RED HOT NEWS FRESH OFF THE PRESSES!
4Piston Racing just let it slip that they are currently testing two different variants of an upgraded high pressure fuel pump for the FK8! These pumps would largely eliminate the need for a complex, expensive Port Injection setup, and would allow us to start pushing big power! (rods permitting )

We installed a new dyno today, and another going into the new shop as well so we can test the cars before turning them over. The biggest factor is going to be a viable fuel system. What I have done with Motec, sure tank, port injection is super expensive and its a lot of "stuff" going on in the car that isn't all that appealing. We are testing a bigger DI pump this week on the car that we hope can support over 500whp, then another in a couple more weeks that definitely will support more than that. Building something that gets the job done is one thing....building it so that its seamless and affordable for everyone is another.
Yes, we are testing high pressure pumps that would eliminate the need for port injection on MOST setups and clean the install up a lot. A lot of the additional power on the stock turbo is available through additional timing on higher octane fuels.....and some more boost. I have a larger turbo so we are going to find a roundabout number that is achievable on the pumps and find out what the next bottle neck is Its a long time in the making....finally getting around to it.
