Check out PRL’s Claim on attaining 400hp from their turbo upgrade kit. Can the CVT handle this much power? Up to how much power can the CVT take?

I'm sure it can handle it. Certainly several times. Probably dozens of times.

You should probably start acquiring spares from junkyards however... and get proficient in dropping the subframe. :D

Don't think this CVT can handle 400whp lol. Maybe if someone can tune it to be 400whp and 250wtq but impossible.

Yep.... but again... that math. You'd be way past redline to find 400 hp at that amount of torque. Off the cuff, I'd say you'd need more in the 8k range a old K20A2 could hit for those numbers.

Ha... I did look it up. ~8400 RPM. So you'd have to take an A2 and reflash it to bump it up to the 8600 limit that the valve train could support, since it shared the same valvetrain as the type Rs had that the time and they came w/a 8600 RPK redline.

I have a feeling the L15B7 might come apart like a cheap watch if you tried to do ~2k over its redline on it's stock valvetrain again and again. Of course... it doing near 300 hp/liter with this turbo is impressive in itself. Who knows?

So my question is, with this setup do you have to upgrade the internals of the engine? How is this for long term use? will it destroy my car it is my daily driver

Since here's no history developed for running a L15B7 at 400 whp as a DD... yeah...? If that's a question you need an answer to... wait a few years.

This is the bleeding edge of new.

It's not like getting an 8th gen Civic Si the beginning of their run and having 4 years of RSX type-S modding history to look back on.

We've been running K-series engine for over 15 years... the L-series has been around just as long, but in their present configuration since '16. It's just too soon to tell how pumping 400 whp through the motor as a DD will work out.

I'm not saying it won't... but God love the early adopters who build the history for the platform. That's where we're at now.

Vit Viper has an 8th gen Si that he is running 860 hp. I am sure it is built, but even so the Honda fours are built tough. Most of the time you won't be running it full throttle. Still, who knows? :dunno:

Yep, but I think we are talking about the strength and reliability of our engines. I hope Ktuner and Hondata aren't prone to blowing up engines. LOL
