It would be cool to also know speed, or more precisely, air speed over heat exchangers...

Also someone should do a test on the ECT and make sure it’s accurate.

Also, why did you place vents on hood there on sides and not in a different location?

And....can you snap a picture of underside of hood. Wanted to see how you cut out the under hood.

Thanks!

My car exhibited similar behavior on an approximately 90 F track day, after only a few laps. Wouldn't it be nice if Honda built the necessary cooling capacity into the car, instead of having us spend thousands more for it?

Although I agree, it would be nice, it is understandable why they didn't: probably fewer than 1% of buyers of the Type R will run it hard enough on a track in 85 F + temps to experience a problem. What was gained from the lower cooling capacity was lower cost and less aero drag and/or less weight. I think it would be nice if Honda sold an optional grill that had improved airflow for people that track the car.

Honda track tested it on a high speed track that kept temps down, they probably didn't run it on many smaller lower speed tracks that don't give the car time to cool down.

I can see that as a testing oversight and a human mistake.

It would be nice to see them correct it with some aftermarket parts now that it's a documented issue.

Testing oversight and human mistake are generous. I think it was 100% a design decision to save cost, weight, and aero. This is the same company that drove two NSXs across the entire US to ensure there were no overheating, NVH, braking issues, or acceleration issues. Those NSXs were track tested at the ring also, but they don't have any overheating issues as far as I know.

I agree that aftermarket (HPD?) parts would be nice.
