I’m having issues uploading a picture but google “California checking for ecu tunes” and a bunch of info will come up.

here is a copy/paste of some text about it:

In California, any vehicle that's eight years old or older needs to pass a smog test every two years in order to be registered in the state. In July, an ECU inspection was added to that test that banned engines with unauthorized ECU-tunes from California roads.Jan 19, 2022

there is a CARB legal hondata though but no adjustments are able to be made

I don't think they can even tell what was on the tune before you bring it to smog. They may be able to tell if the ECU was modified or not but couldn't you just say you had a CARB legal tune before?

How much longer do we have to wait? I’ve had 3k in parts sitting for nearly a year and I’m itching to put them on. I’ve been wanting to get the pure550 since they’re local to me but waiting out for this

Just tune the car and flash back to stock for smog. As long as your car is on a stock tune when you smog, you'll be fine. If you're that paranoid you could get a cloned ECU. You california guys do have it tough, I would hate to live there and be a car enthusiast, yet somehow california has some of the wildest builds too.

This turbo will be dropping this spring. I'll have it ready in the next month or so.

Hmm.. will this allow me to get to 500whp on 93? :p
if so, send me an advanced unit and.... LOL

but really @Vincent@27WON; I know you aren't targeting the higher end of bolt-ins; just wondering where I would expect to be with 45-state 93 Pump + fueling upgrades (injectors, both pumps)?

On just 93? I don't think so mate, Need a heck of a fuel system for that.

Get one and let us know ;)

I suspect mid 400's

I was only MOSTLY serious about that 500HP # (with 93 - I don't actually think that's a thing.)
- as that the max I really want to go for a street car.
(no doing that 800-900hp B-Series crap this time, that was dumb to street)

so for the Fuel system, it's BASICALLY full Hondata fuel system + Sirimoto Flex - HPFP; Injectors, and using a DW300C - I'm getting that tuned in the next little bit, and then E40 directly after that; then the only thing left on my plate is which turbo to get.

I know 93 isn't getting much more than low 400s, and E40 is going to be needed to get more -I just can't decide what turbo I need to want. :p

How about testing 91? I’ve got a xdi pump, modded fuel line, 1650cc injectors, and a dw300c

I'm working on the web-listing as we speak. I hope to get this live here in the next week or two.
