For perspective: by whatever sources I’ve been able to find online that seem at least credible, a 2006 RSX (Integra) Type-S MSRP’d for ~$43,000. Adjusted for inflation, that’d be ~$64,000 now. Of course, there’s a margin of error, but it’s probably not $12,000.

Thus, a brand new $52,000 RSX is actually a good deal.
Ya, the margin of error is that you're $20k off!

That gen RSX came out in 2002 with the base model under $20k. An '02 RSX Type S was ~$23k and the 05-06 refresh was ~$24,500. After adjusting for inflation, that would still be under $40k in today's dollars.

Where did Doc come up with that price?

Honda Civic 10th gen 2024 Acura Integra Type S costs $51,995, Holy #$!*$ 05rsx-s_st

That would be about $37,000 in 2023 dollars. So quite a bargain compared to the new Type S.

I thought the rsx typeS was 26k?
Yea the $43k for the RSX Type S is not correct. No way these were over $30k MSRP.

A 2006 BMW 330i was $37,295. Aint no way a RSX is more expensive than that.

https://www.cars.com/research/acura-rsx-2006/ says $23,845

per BLS.gov as of March 2023 that equates to $36,295

Thank you! 🙏🏼 I really did try to look up the MSRP for my calcs. 😅

Okay, so, $23,800 in 2006 adjusted is $35,600.

So, yeah, the Integra better be making breakfast for its pricepoint.

Not to mention I guarantee most of these will have up to 10k ADM on the sticker. 60k+ for an Integra is almost the definition of insanity. Nice car, but come on Honda.

At $50-60K you're stepping into s4/s5 territory, although I think they no longer come in a manual transmission but still!

Honda just playing the gouging game like everyone else, shouldn’t be much a surprise.

Markups aside, the type r makes the gr Corolla look like a bargain for the core trim.

This is a huge fail. People are not going to spend $55k on a 4banger. Too many cars in that price range with better performance. It is a nice vehicle but not that much nicer than a type r. Plus a type r is a type r lol. Even the type r is too expensive really but still pretty good value at msrp. just have to wait for more production so prices come down on the type r.

So sad. Would've stripped and went back to stock on my Si if the car was $40k-$45K. What a shame...

At this point I'm looking for used polaris slingshots with the 4 wheel mod and turbo/blower. Like an areal atom at a fraction of the cost. Yeah, no doors, seat belts or other safety features, etc. But I'm looking for type R as I'm aging out of my motorcycles, and I can maybe go half way to car for a lot less

When I bought my brand new '87 Integra 3 door back in the day I think it was around 12K plus 1K dealer markup. It was a nice car. Loved that car.

I can't fathom 60K out the door for an Integra no matter how nice it is.

With the average new car price around $48k, sadly, from that perspective it’s a steal ….almost hurts to type that ….and I want one, but like the Type R, I won’t pay over sticker so it’s unlikely I’ll get one
