if you're still in the market i'd probably go back and negotiate. I like the body of the 86/BRZ but I do not like subaru engines. Those cars will make a fun project if done correctly.
nah not in the market at all lol if anything id be more interested in the new one not the old

I’m tempted, since it’s probably as close as we’re going to get to a new S2000. I miss my s2k some days.

And I still want one :/ drove an AP1 and loved the raw feeling of the car. Reminded me a lot of driving the fr-s just faster and the 9k rev limiter was insane. Wouldn’t daily one though. The suspension is unforgiving though I heard the AP2 is better with that.

I daily'd my AP2, the suspension wasn't nearly as harsh. The rawness is what I miss the most. I miss feeling the vibrations from the engine, hearing the cam lobe crossover, and it pulling all the way to 8500rpm. Mine was tuned by Vit so he bumped up the fuel cutoff.

I also miss how reliable that car was. I never had to worry about toasting the clutch or throwing a rod. With my Si that's always in the back of my mind. I'm just not used to these tiny turbo cars yet.

to see there are 4 pages of this has me thinking that people here have really pondered about the new gr86.

if i was in a civic si coupe and wanted to continue to have a coupe around the same price range i would be really looking at the toyota imo. since the civic coupe is gone.

As per your question. My “other car is a 2012 Camaro SS/RS supercharged LS3 6 speed manual. 640whp last dyno test. I bought my 2020 Civic Sport Sedan 6MT for reliability reasons. The type R and SI feel painfully slow after driving this car. Even though the GR86 won’t be fast either, I can make it look phenomenal and being RWD and lightweight it will be fun in the so cal mountain roads!
My last AWD car was a 2007 WRX STI,(last year of the iconic big wing cars before the hatch body style, they called it the Hawkeye) my last fwd cars were a 2006 turbocharged cobalt SS, and a 1998 integra type R in white (should have kept that car)

oooh what you got lol

and nice man i owe like 12k left on my si i wish i could have paid cash but my projects take my money haha

and rwd, fwd,awd has never been a factor to me everything has a plus side to it personally and i can agree on quality as much as i like the 10th gens there are some things that shouldnt happen or make noise on a new car meanwhile my 98 coupe (even thou its on jackstands atm) seems to be fine (ignore the oil leak lmao) and oddly enough in a 20 something year old car i dont have plastic rattle!

not sure if i will grab one but i for sure want to drive one and see if its something i want

Was just reading that the new GR Corolla hatch is supposed to be AWD so I may have to wait and see what that ends up like as well.
