Oh, hello Miata. ?
Thought about it but I'd want a hard top and that would make it a bit pricier, I'm also attracted to the huge aftermarket support for the brz/86 community, can really make your car your own

Also I think I'm more comfy with the idea of a brz now over the 86 since technically it's a subaru engine, would have more confidence in technicians that know the new engine inside and out

*In my best @boosted180sx voice* I'm sure there are a ton of companies who offer an aftermarket hardtop. ? ?
you are unfortunately wrong because id never say that after owning an s2000 and putting a hard top on haha. Either it will stay a soft top or you get the RF version.

creaks and rattles gets old LOL.

Yet drives the worlds quietest Civic. :hmm:
i dont have any creaks and rattles on my civic so yeah its "quiet".
even if i had rattles, those panel rattles are nowhere near the creaking sound you get when driving on bumpy roads with an frp hardtop bolted down.

if im buying a miata, i will sacrifice the 100lb or so extra weight and get the RF lol. But when you get into the RF, it becomes quite costly ... however, the 86/BRZ isnt necessarily a cheap car anymore either ...

YUP! A chorus of creaks and rattles PLUS booming exhaust drone :)
Sold my damn carbon fiber hardtop my S2000 came with as fast as I could!
Besides, who wants a convertible that you can't sling the top off at a moments notice!?

I always liked the new 86. The GR86 seems to carry itself well too!

My budget was pretty broad for getting a new car. I tried out a handful of cars, but the Si won out.
1. 4 doors, with interior that comfortably sits 4 adults. Wife pointed out that it can hold a car seat for my little one (when we HAVE a little one).
2. Heated seats.
3. Sunroof.
4. Price (bought from a personal dealer friend, for WELL below average, with his Friends & Family Discount $18k, w/16k miles).
5. Fuel efficiency. (From Richmond to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. Weather was PERFECT that day.)

6. Performance. It’s a solid performing car. It’ll run down an 86, and keep up with it on the twisties.

The short of it, I love my Si. And I just see it as the better value car.

The only way I’m changing cars is if I my Si is wrecked, or if they make a new “SiR” (Civic Si body and luxury with TypeR engine?)

There’s a significant 47hp, 45 ft lb trq increase over the last generation.
209 WHP/175 Torque.
This car is definitely putting down more power then advertised ?? I’m definitely getting a GR86!
