Wow! My 2019 number is 35160. Manufactured in December 2019. That suggests a small number of 2020's were produced.

Congrats! my buddies also order a 2020 CW on July but no more 2020 available so have to wait for 2021 now. And I am lucky I place my BB right after Honda Canada announce it that BB is available so I can have my 2020 in my garage now. My plate # is 366XX but how can I find out what is the production date?

The month of production is on the door sill plate.

The numbers are for all FK8s, basically starting in 2017.

Maybe, I've read elsewhere that the numbers (after 100) are not applied sequentially. Instead they are ordered in lots of 4k or so and dropped in a bucket at Swindon and randomly pulled. Then when the bucket gets low they order another lot of badges. So a 2020 could have a number lower than a 2018, but very unlikely.

I've never looked, but you should have a plate on your engine or door jamb with the production info. Can someone verify?

This should basically be it in a nutshell. Though I'm not sure about the first 100 being sequential. I know the first car had number 1 (and was auctioned off), but not sure about what came after. Also unsure about how many are placed in a "lot" or "batch" and when a new "lot" is created. IE, do they make 4k badges sequentially at a time and get a new set of 4k going when their stock hits 1000? Do they have 8000 badges per lot that is restocked when stock hits 500?

A far as the console numbers go, there are 2019 models with higher number than 2020 models. At least according to the FK8 Registry. This give credence to the 4,000 numbers in a bucket idea.

I did do a simulation and some data analysis about 8 months ago to show correlations between year of manufacturer and badge number as well as patterns that will arise with a batch of 8000. I did (privately play with the numbers myself using 4000, 16000, etc. for batch sizes, but never posted them). Granted at the time 2020 models didn't exist yet.

It was interesting because despite the overlap in badge numbers, I was able to train a decision tree (nothing complex) to predict manufacturer year based on badge number with 95% accuracy (on a blind testing set). Granted this was only for 2017-19 model years. I may go back and fiddle with new 2020 model years added to the registry.

Note, my 4k number was just that, a random number. Nothing based on anything other than some size that seemed plausible give or take an order of magnitude :)

Mine is 2020, but my number is 372xx and bought in April. so I am assuming about 1k-ish 2020 models are produced?
