Actually (IIRC), the Focus was a European only vehicle long before it made it to the US.
Yeah, I think that was because it was designed by Ford of Europe, and the US branch resented it. Maybe that's why it's no longer sold here. It was the only good car they made.

That started with Ford Contour/Mercury Mystique, similar to Mondeo the "world car". (Actually Escort was the first world car. ) The Contour with 2.5L 170hp as a rental (or definitely the Contour SVT with 195-200hp) was actually fun to drive. From my memory it carved turns better than my current civic.

Ford stopped selling all sedans and hatchbacks because they didn't sell as well as their Mustang, SUVs, CUVs, and trucks. It was a financial decision; I think they may start backpedaling on that soonish, but don't expect anything.

Which really stinks, because the new ST is a huge upgrade. It now has 280 HP and a superior interior compared to the one we have.

Also the ford/mercury Capri back in the 70s American auto manufacturer has been doing this for years with their European counterparts all started after WW2 that’s why today most of the GM cars are Opels

So it has the gigantic front grille which even swallows the turn signal lights in a "turn signal integration into the grille" feature. :) Some people think huge grilles are a bad current trend that needs to end ASAP.

I don't agree. It's just a styling trend which is not so bad. Better than being bland or "no style" style. A huge grille is of course a fake grille, but I don't see anything wrong with that. It's exactly the same as so called "fake vents" on the civic, which don't bother me the slightest bit either. Everybody who is technically literate knows that a modest economy car does not require a gigantic air flow or additional vents all over the place.

"We already known the new Elantra, released on March 17th on NA and hybrid flavours for the North American market, but the Hybrid Avante will be available this June, together with the N-line model that will replace Elantra Sport. During 2021 the high-performance N variant is expected for the Sedan."

I was planning to get another Civic hatch this year, but if this is the 2021 Elantra GT N Line - that'll be hard to pass up. Love the seats, the dash screens and the exterior looks a lot better now.

It's like the hatchback Si that Honda doesn't seem to want to make.

That actually looks really great. That infotainment display is worlds better than the one in our Civics, that's for sure.

The 2020 Elantra GT N Line is hard to find on a dealer lot in my area as is the Kia Forte GT in a manual transmission.
Looks like they may have taken out some red accents on the 2021 and changed the wheels.

That looks like a GTI to a tee, exterior wise. Also I know the next gen of Civic might very well have the same, thing but I hate tacked on tablet infotainment. Say what you will about the system in the Civic being dated, but at least it fits into the dash neatly.

Yeah, a big screen so high up is less distracting when you look at it, but more distracting when you're NOT looking at it, lol.

Hope the seats are as comfortable as they are cool looking. My Civic's seats don't look like much but somehow are way more comfortable on long trips than the BMW sport seats I had in my two previous cars.

I kind of wish Hyundai would bring over the i30 Fastback. It's a cool little car especially in N form.

Supposedly 2021 they're making an N version of the Elantra. I agree the i30N hatch and fastback are my favorite looking cars.
