Sup gals and ghouls! Just wanted to start a thread to start posting my build progress.

Vehicle: 2021 Civic Hatchback Sport in Crystal Black Pearl (6spd mt)

Background:
I got this car with about 15miles on the car in early February of this year (2021) — even though I was supposed to receive it in late December (2020) — but that’s a whole other story — and I previously owned a stock 2008 VW JETTA with about 175,000miles (the transmission was giving out as a typical VW would haha) for about 6 months. That being said, this is my first ever manual transmission car (I actually learned how to drive stick shift in this car), and my first time working/modifying any car. My goal was to find a car that would be great on fuel efficiency, have a solid platform to build on for further power/ aesthetic gains, and be able to turn into a possible camper for road trips and exploring. I’m hoping that by posting my journey I’ll be able to showcase my progress and find help with any questions, needs, or tips. As always feel free to reach out if you want links, anecdotal experience, or just want to say hey :D

My Goal: A weekend/ get-away camper with a little power (shooting for 225-250hsp) while

So what’s next?

Im currently on the fence about what major purchases to make in the next few months. My priority is fixing my cracked windshield (it cracked during my first month of ownership and has been growing with the warmer weather), and getting it ceramic coated with a tinted banner as well — thinking a 5% strip and a 75% front windshield tint.

Next would be up in the air with either new wheels and tires (scared of rubbing and fitment issues) with Enkei nt03m 18 x 9.5 +35 or +38 offset and 245/40/18 Continental DWS06 or Yokohama’s. Again, scared of rubbing on stock suspension and indecisive about getting coil overs (thinking about Tein flex z) because I dont want to drop it too low in fear of sh*tty California roads and my camping endeavors.
OR
PRL intercooler with charge pipes/ and Acuity stage 3 short shifter
OR
A roof rack to start taking my car camping vision further and using it for extra storage (cargo box) and making a custom awning out of tarp and pvc piping

Lastly, the smaller stuff I plan to do/pull the trigger on in the next couple weeks:
  1. install rear sequential reflectors from ijdmtoy
  2. install whiteline sway bar w/ accord endlinks
  3. Buy ramps or jacks!! (my first oil change was miserable lol)
  4. Buy and install type R subframe brace and bolts
  5. Buy and install gold temperature reflective tape on inlet and stock intake box (saw a thread that it helps bring down IAT’s)
  6. install red reflective tape on trunk after removing reflectors
  7. Possibly removing the top 40 part of the 40/60 rear seats for less weight (and for my doggo)
  8. Buying and installing new horns — the stock horns are SOO FRIGGIN WEAKK — so if you have recommendations I would appreciate it!!!
  9. New shift knob? The GReddy looks amazing but it’s soo pricey 0.0

Whats up ya’ll! Been a while but here’s an update:

1.) Rear sequentials on, shift knob/boot/collar upgraded (thanks to Acuity and DboyShiftz), JetsVinyl honeycomb overlay on, as well as Spoon side mirrors, and also got my windshield fixed by Safelite and coughed up the $815 (if it wasnt for the recalibration, this wouldnt have been as much), and removed the 40top section of the rear seats.

2.) Pulled the trigger on the intercooler — went with 27won. S/O to Vlad for hooking me up! Just waiting for the right day to install. Also went with the 27won rmm (street). Have a Procivic grille waiting to be installed with the intercooler as well!...And yes, I bought tools, a floor jack, and jack stands! (Husky tools, daytona low-prof 3ton jack, and pro-lift stands)

3.) 22mm Whiteline sway bar with the Accord endlinks are on...sort of.

^^^This started off as an easy install (finished within 40ish minutes) but had a weird clunking noise a few days after spirited driving. Tightened bolts and went on with my week.
About a week later I hear a clunking noise in the rear again and decided to go under the car and tighten everything to 40ft lbs. As i’m tightening the last bolt, I didnt realize I wasnt completely flush to the bar when torquing everything down and I felt a crack....the 12mm broke in half as I tightened and pulled out my torque wrench.
I am now driving with only three 12mm bolts holding on the sway bar brackets to the subframe. Driving extra slow for the next few days as this IS my daily. I AM NOW LOOKING FOR 12MM OEM SWAY BAR BOLT FLANGES — but I have no idea what the part # is....HELP!

4.) Currently waiting for Lasfit fogs/ headlight LED upgrades, and hoping to pull the trigger on the side body moldings within the next week. Acuity short shifter OR Rhino Rack roof rack in November hopefully!

5.) Might be planning my first roadtrip up North by myself and car camp on the way there...stay tuned :)

Just waiting on giving Chrollo a detail soon to post pics! But i’m really happy with how my build is going so far! Excited for

The bracket bolt if you look at it from behind, it’s part of the actual chassis of the car. There is no part number. You need to drill out the bolt…no other way around it. Having 3 bolts isn’t horrible…it’s not ideal for extended time. But the brackets are on there pretty well. I broke my sway bar link without realizing and drove around for months…

Thanks for the reply! Definitely calmer now that I hear that! I only really notice the missing bolt when going in at an angle over bumps and stuff. Still, would way rather replace the 12mm with anything for peace of mind for now.
I’ll probably check in with local shops to see how much it would be to remove the other half of the bolt this week. Any idea of costs/labor? (I dont have enough tools to remove it myself...I think)
