Had a side license plate bracket for a 370z in the past using front tow hook and wanted to do the same with the 2020 type R.

After some research, most of the current license plate relocators use the grill part, Whereas the 2020 model got rid of that and added a “mustache” or what some people call a “hockey stick.“
Any ideas for a side license plate?

you have no choice but to mount it in the middle above the intercooler using two of those honey comb holes. Or you drill into the front bumper

thanks for your input. After some research, I decided to use Slybrackets. hopefully I can mount the plate to the furthest right side. I’ll post pictures after the install. Maybe this can be an alternative option for 2020 civic models that want license plates on the side.

I am using the sly bracket and very happy with the quality of it.

Depends on your state
In Cali. all it has to be is "mounted" in the front bumper and NOT just stuck on the front dash. The front dash thing is illegal but it all depends on the cop and how they feel that day.

Did an install with slybrackets and I think it came out great. I tried to put it to the side as much as possible. Pics:

I put a black foam tape to prevent the bracket from hitting the paint.

What I like about your choice is the rigitity of the center grille is more stable. I have mine on my 2019 on the foglight grille and the weight of it wants to pull the grille away from the bumper. At least yours too is not covering the intercooler much either.

Yeah, it appears to be stable after putting in about 60 miles. May need to tighten up parts over time. Lane keeping assist and ACC seems to be working just fine, too.

Alright so piggybacking off your location I relocated from my smaller vent area to yours. It seems more stable. I was able to move further down and then use the adapters to push it out due to having a splitter. I think without the splitter I couldn't have gone as far down as it would have looked funny.
You can see in the pictures below the original location I had it over to the right. Like I said it was putting weight on the vent cover and wanting to pull it off. The new location even though I'm not happy that it partially covers a small portion of the intercooler it still seems more secure.

Move to Arizona, no front plates at all.

(Fun political story... One town got photo radar many decades ago. Several legislators got upset about getting tickets they couldn't get out of since their was no officer to 'discuss with'. So they got rid of front plates since at the time only the front pictures was taken. So the town 'fixed' that by setting up twin cameras, front for the driver's face, and rear for the license plate. Yea politicians!)

The sensors aren't on the passenger side, only the horn is on that side
