I took it to Duval Honda in Jacksonville.

They tell me that the rotors have normal wear even though all 4 rotors are damaged. But it's normal.

Then I was told my Type R has Brake Drums and Brake shoes like the old cars. But you can't see it. Apparently it's invisible??? Harry Potter Brakes wtf?

My seat makes popping noises and has a loose bracket but oh that's normal too even though they can replicate it.

Unless something has changed I'm unaware of....

I mean come on dude. Fix my car and give it back to wtf.

I don't think I'd worry about the scoring on the rotors. They are performance brakes, which leads to increased wear, noise, and dust.

Have to say I would certainly be afraid of any dealer that would tell you that you have drum brakes on that car.

My car is garage kept. Ceramic coated. I take very good care of it.

It is not normal. I have had a 2017. The brake pads are NOT supposed to sit on the rotors when you are driving down the road. They never "lift" off of the rotor. My 2017 never had scoring like this. Plus a few days ago I heard a very bad metallic metal on metal sound. Something is wrong with the car. I know all about these cars. I've driven these for 3 years.

I can't believe the hacks they have working at these stealerships.

I am so pissed.

You sure you’re not hearing the electronic wastegate upon decel? I thought it was my brakes too, but isn’t.

WOW man yeah something is Wrong then. I didn't realize you were having this many issues. All i can say is take it to another dealership and explain what happened. I hope this all gets sorted out for you...

I'm gonna have to agree with other posters. Without hearing the sound, your photos seem like normal rotor wear and it looks like normal usage. The rotors on all my cars look like that.

As far as the dealer telling you have drum brakes on the rear...for the love of god go to another dealer cause that is concerning.

The scoring is normal. Where the pad is touching the edge of the rotor doesn't look normal, so I would check that to be sure.
As far as the seat goes, check the bolts yourself.

Agree with everyone else. Don't go back to the dealer that told you it has drum brakes. I don't see anything alarming about the rotor wear. Seems normal. My 2020 isn't much better and I only have 800 miles.

That "scoring" is 100% normal.

A loose seat bracket and a dealership said it is normal? I find that one hard to believe. Did you drop a purse or wallet underneath your seat?

My 2019 with 2020 rotors and GLOC R6 pads looks identical to your rotor. This picture was taken after MAYBE 5 miles of driving and HARD stopping to bed the pads to the rotor.

If you're worried about the pad making contact with the rotor, you're in luck. The car is advanced enough to correct for the problem. All you have to do is drive it on the highway and back and the pad will burn away where it's touching the rotor! This is brand new technology invented by Isaac Newton because two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time!!! And now Honda has added it to our brakes!!!

You're a new owner who is massively overthinking this and overprotecting your car and blaming "stealerships" because reasons. They're pieces of iron. They're fine. Just drive the fucking car.
Just love it!!

I once had a Mazda dealership argue with me that I didn’t need 6 sparkplugs for my MX-3 because it was a 1.8l and there is no such thing as a V6 that small. I had to drag the guy out to the car and make him count the plugs.

brakes don’t look bad but you will always find a knucklehead at a dealership that doesn’t know shit

I get that these cars have minor rotor wear. But It looks much worse in person. Something has literally "CUT" into the rotors. All 4 rotors are identical. You can feel the grooves in it. This is not superficial.

On top of everything else they damaged my $2500 ceramic coat and my bumper. This place has been an absolute nightmare.

I understand what everyone is saying but the rotors should not have this type of damaged. They are damaged not just general wear

That definitely sucks that you have such a sketchy dealer. It's hard to tell if they are incompetent or if they were intentionally being misleading.

I tend to agree with the others that in your photos, the wear looks totally normal. The fact that it is identical on all four rotors is further evidence that there is no one defective part. The chances of all four corners (with front and rear having totally different design of caliper, rotor, and brake pad) would all be defective in an identical way is extremely remote.

Even mildly aggressive brake pads do score rotors in that way from my past experience. There are also plenty of people who have posted about the OEM brakes making annoying squealing noises. Mine, after 20K miles, sometimes make metallic scraping noises (typical of well toasted pads). And yet upon inspection, the pads still have some more life remaining.
