Hey man!

Picked up my Si on 4/1 from Peter’s on Amherst St - Nashua.

Still breaking my girl in - 800 miles.

I’ve LED’d everything and got some other plans in the future too. We will link up sometime

Got the auto dimming/compass mirror in today. Will be installing probably this weekend.

Did you notice a big difference with your upgrades to your shifter? I was looking at the 10thgen stage 2 shift kit by Acuity, but wow its expensive! I don't want to spend that kind of cash if its not worth it. Thanks

Definitely noticed a difference. I didn’t want their full on custom shifter they just released so this all was the next best thing. I think all in, with the Acuity stuff, heavy knob and type-r shifter, it was right at $300 total. I got two of the Acuity parts used so that helped.

I haven’t tried it with the stock knob, I went right into the heavy weight knob. But it’s absolutely perfect now and I’ll be doing Amsoil Synchromesh MTF later this summer to really top it all off. Everything is precise and falls right into each gear with ease. I do still have a very slight crunch into second or first when the it’s cold until it warms up, but that’s where the MTF should pretty much solve the rest of that. Once everything warms up though, it’s perfect.

Awesome thanks! Now to wait until they are back in stock.

Decided on these particular tweeters because of their price and being silk dome. Usually my go to is JL Audio C5s, but that’s a little overkill on the stock system. This is perfect and it sounds so much better. Little trimming required but not bad at all.

JL Audio C2-350 center speaker is next. I’ll have one available end of the week for anyone that wants the other to upgrade their center speaker.

Do you notice any difference with the stock system? I added a powered sub for a little more low end. Do these tweeters crisp up the high end noticeably?

Yes definitely crisp things up nice and it’s not hard on the ears anymore. I can crank the system up and it sounds much better. I can’t wait to hear what the JL center speaker and subwoofer sounds like. I think this is going to be perfect everything considered.

I might be interested in that other center speaker. I’m not 100% sure if an aftermarket center speaker fits without mods.

Fits direct! I have the harness, baffle and the speaker. Should be available after Thursday.

Here’s the full install guide-

Very busy day today. Had some spare headlights that I painted black swapped on. Will be retrofitting the original ones that were on the car, which will take a few weeks, so needed something to get by. They look awesome!

Installed the College Hill dual horn upgrade. Plug and play and sounds awesome. Nice and loud, not ashamed to use it now.

Swapped in the JL Audio C2-350x center speaker, with baffle and harness. Sounds even better now, and compliments the new Alpine tweeters and crossovers.

And finally installed the PRL Cobra Intake. Install was truly a pain doing it in my driveway with no ramps. Took me a bit to figure out the PRL tubing placement and getting mounts fitted. Lower stock box was actually super easy to remove for me up through the top. Couple twists here and there and it popped right out.

Finally had a chance to install the auto dimming mirror/compass. Install was super easy. Tucked the wires into the headliner and then ran them down the driver side a-pillar. Used an add-a-fuse into the ignition fuse and grounded it to the fuse box bolt.

So for the last week or so I have been working on another project for the car. I've always wanted a fiberglass subwoofer enclosure for that clean look that doesn't take up that much space. Reached out to a few local shops and they wanted way too much money for one, so I said the heck with that and built my own! Definitely time consuming, but the end result is truly satisfactory.

Used a UV-curable fiberglass resin, along with several layers of cloth and mat. Added some wooden dowels on the bottom to test out for more strength. Curves/Ribs = Strength when it comes to fiberglass.

Quick tips:
-Duct tape works wonders for masking off the area you are fiberglassing the mold from. Many use painters tape or masking tape, but those all stick to the fiberglass. Duct tape peeled right off with no issues for me.
-Take your time and make sure that there are no air bubbles. If there are, you really need to sand them down and them fill them back in with fiberglass and resin. Bubbles means there will be way less strength in those areas.
-I used a fleece at first for the front portion, however this was going to soak up way too much resin. I ditched that and went with a spandex/poly combo, which is super thin, contours to everything better and soaks up the resin very well.
-You must wear an organic mask when working with this stuff. I probably spend $50 on my mask because I was not taking any chances, this stuff is dangerous and the smell lingers. I've been airing out my car for over a week and it still smells of resin.

Hot glued the dowels and 3/4" MDF baffle in place. Later on I made sure to resin these all inplace so they stay very secure. Some people remove them after everything has set, but I preferred the extra strength.

Honda Civic 10th gen 2020 Si: The Saga Continues IMG_9409

After spandex/poly fabric, several layers of cloth and mat, along with some Bondo Glass on the edges to make sure it's sealed completely.

Honda Civic 10th gen 2020 Si: The Saga Continues IMG_9449

Test fit after the carpet was laid on. Not a perfect match, but all I could get locally. I would've ordered some from Parts Express that looked like a direct match, but oh well, I was eager to get this done.

Honda Civic 10th gen 2020 Si: The Saga Continues IMG_9454

Bolt with a lock washer, washer and nut holding it in place. Once the subwoofer box is mounted there, another washer on outside and inside of the box to make sure it's held on tight and properly distributes the load.

For those of you that were thinking of running a LC2i along with your amp, why not get an amp that has it already built in? 300W+ RMS of power and this guy packs a nice punch and doesn't hardly take any space. I highly recommend it.

Honda Civic 10th gen 2020 Si: The Saga Continues IMG_9459

Rockford Fosgate 40 Amp AGU fuse, wrapped in a protective sleeve. I used NVX 8 AWG power and ground cables. Very nice cables.

Honda Civic 10th gen 2020 Si: The Saga Continues IMG_9462

Amp mounted and wires all hooked up. You can see that there are actually two inputs coming from the factory amp (Rear Left and Subwoofer). This amp sums the two channels together and the results are awesome. I can now know for sure that I am getting the full range of bass. Some people swear by using the rear channel vs sub, and some vise versa. Best of both worlds now, especially with AccuBass!

Picked up some Metra speaker harness adapters to splice in for the connections to the amp. One goes to the rear left and the other to the subwoofer. This allowed me to tap into the signal for the amp, without splicing into the wires and still retain signal going to the speakers too. Plug and play is nice!

Looks good man! I haven't worked fiberglass in a long time! 10+ years when I was in competitions...that stuff sucks! Lol we used to use basically pantyhose material for shaping. Stretched nicely and was thin enough to not steal your resin lol

I was actually thinking about making a box to seal in that stock sub...I don't wamt to go crazy on a system since it's like eating Pringles...once you pop, the fun don't stop! Haha but I figured an enclosure of some sort would help a bit. You can tell it loses out when it needs to have that air resistance.

Anyone ever get bored with modding? I sure don't!

Maxima D2S projectors w/ E30 clear lenses, Bi-Xenon and curved shield conversion, Denso ballasts and Osram CBI bulbs. Didn't come out 100%, being my first retrofit, but man is the light output and quality insane! Pictures just don't do justice.
