Hello and welcome to the shit show!
Purchased on 03FEB21 with 4.6k miles on her. She is to be my commuter with benefits. Previously my DD was an overly modded 2011 Tacoma. If you want to know how depraved I went, here is the build thread:
https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/black-blade-build.164752/
I still have the truck, would rather cut off my right leg than sell that funbox. Not that I was going to however as we needed a third vehicle. My avatar is a picture of my first crotch goblin the day we brought him home from the hospital almost 16 years ago. He will be driving the urban assault vehicle to school until he leaves for college, then it will pass down to his sisiter when she turns 16. Fairly certain that the armored Taco should mitigate the idiocy of other's driving and give them a fair amount of impact protection.
What sold my wife on this car was the fact that it gets well over twice the MPG as the Taco MRAP. Within the same breath, my long suffering spouse of two decades served me one condition upon purchase; that I not spend more modding this than I did my truck. I love my wife, pretty sure she had no idea the monster garage hell she had just authorized......

My intent for this vehicle is to make a semi-sleeper that allows me to go from normal commuter on the freeway to escape velocity in a heartbeat. As well as having fun turning wrenches and tinkering on toys in the garage.

Mods Done:
Cell Phone mount with power supply
De-badged
Oh-Shit handle delete/Sunglass holder replace
SuperKlasse Shift knob
Tea Mug confinement
DRL + Fog lights and High Beams plus side marker module by alejandroads123
Honda splash guards (mudflaps)
Hood struts
Acuity gas pedal relocate
SUMA Performance side mirrors
SUMA Performance smoked side markers
Engine bay side panel covers
LAMIN-X fog light film
Tint, 15% crystalline
Weathertech Floorliners
Honda leather console and arm rests
......now with red stitching
Weathertech Shades
Blacken the chrome abomination
GRFXP light smoke tail light vinyl
GRFXP light smoke headlight vinyl
SUMA Performance rear view mirror
HornBlasters Oogah Horn

Mods in the pipe (ordered or waiting)
Nothing big for now. Other household needs have outranked my wants for the near future.

Mods of the future (AKA the list of wishes), in intended chronological order:
Short Throw Shifter, leaning towards Acuity
Sound deadening
TypeRLeds full interior and reverse
Whiteline grip series kit
Rear Motor Mount
K Tuner
Big Brake Kit (27WON at this point)
ACT HD Street Clutch Kit
27WON CAI (street MAF) and TIP
HKS or 27WON intercooler
27WON Turbo Downpipe (catless)
increased heat blankets/shielding
27WON exhaust (Slant tips) with Front-Pipe

This ends the tour of insanity island. Thank you for keeping your heads and arms inside the tram at all times.

Cell phone Mount.
0211211749.jpg

Used a 1/4"-20 female RAM ball through a fender collar mated up with large washer on the other side of the trim plastic to distribute the pressure. Lock washer installed and locktight blue applied.
0209211027.jpg

Bolted into the dashboard sub-frame for more stability. Fender collar again utilized to spread the joy of torquing the assembly into place. Blue locktight and lock washer again were abused in the making of this movie.
0209211041_HDR.jpg

Otter Box belt holster was sacrificed and attached to RAM plate and ball. Allows for a positive lockdown of the phone and can be adjusted to darn near any angle using the double ball adapter.
0209211045a.jpg

USB C cable routed from center console behind climate control and to the left of the head unit.

When I get the K Tuner, will rig up another of these into the faux CF trim to the left of the steering wheel. Might switch the phone over to that side, will have to burn that bridge when I come to it.

SuperKlasse shift knob installed.
Thanks -=MAX=-
0220211034.jpg

Ended up having to put a couple of washers between the knob and the shift boot collar to engage right. Filled the void in the top of the knob with lead.

Got sick of my tea mug rattling around in the cavernous center console. So I spent an ungodly amount of time shaping PVC pipe:
1.jpg

This is the before with the mug, way too much room for lateral activities:
2.jpg

Enter the PVC to shape:
3.jpg

Cut down to size, sanded, filed, sanded, filed, sanded, filed, "You know they make cup holders, right?"
4.jpg

More sanding, checking, smoothing, fitting, repeat. Add some vinyl to hide the cheap plastic.
5.jpg

Voila! Now the tea doesn't rattle in the box. It is at a perfect angle for my needs, and it is locked in place!

For some reason, my wife isn't as excited about this as I am. Oh, and put in a change holder from Amazon.

DRL + Fog lights and High Beams plus side marker module by @alejandroads123
0223211800_HDR.jpg

Install was straightforward. Just watch the video in the more recent posts on his thread.
0223211657_HDR.jpg

Full plug and play. Even comes with zip ties for wire management and noise prevention.
0223211713.jpg

As well as a fancy on/off button cleanly installed on a factory blank.

MUD FLAPS!!!!!
Bought at my local stealership for a hundred bucks. The last part of my drive to work is a gravel road and it was making baby Jesus cry when the rocks were hitting.
0224210952_HDR.jpg

When you install them, don't have the wheel turned this way.......
0224210951_HDR.jpg

That third screw is a pain in the ass above. This way made it much, much easier:
0224210805.jpg

The rears are easy, no need to remove tires or put on a lift:

Thank you Captain for posting the install PDF in the sticky section of the DIY threads!

I'm pretty sure the hoods struts don't play well with the side covers. I could be wrong, but after drilling some holes in mine it looked as though the struts in their down position would collide with the side panels. So on a shelf in the garage they went.

Good to know. Thank you Matthew! I'll see if I can chop it to fit. If not then I'm sure it can help to hold a shelf down..

Suma side mirrors
Suma has a great install video on YouTube
0225211753_HDR.jpg

Fast and easy install. Used my fingers rather than a pry tool to get the OEMs out without a problem. Spent more time cleaning up grease than anything else. Oh, that and replacing a fecking ring...
0225211801.jpg

Pry tools, thank God for them! The black plastic tabs are hella annoying.
0225211749_HDR.jpg

That little ring! Sitting there smirking at me from the bottom of the mirror housing. Make sure it is around those five grease covered white plastic fingers before you push the mirror in place or you will lose the ability to adjust. Just glad I saw that little bastard.....
0225211806_HDR.jpg

That's it, about 20 minutes.

Acuity gas pedal relocate
0226210754.jpg

Install took longer to gather tools than to bolt it in.
0226210747.jpg

Before I started, I disconnected the battery in preparation to fully remove the pedal (like the video demonstrated). Don't, there is no need. Plenty of wire room for activities.
0226210750.jpg

All told, about ten minutes.

SUMA Side Markers!
Several videos out there on how to install, I stumbled upon the Torque Toolbox vid while I was looking for LAMIN-X fog light film and went from there.
0226211226_HDR.jpg

Honestly simple and straightforward. Could have done it with the supplied instructions but measure twice to cut once.
0226210843.jpg

Old ones pop out easy. Gentle pressure on the marker towards the engine bay makes releasing the clip far easier.
0226210855.jpg

Wire prep, gotta protect the fragile electric path. Released the bayonet clip in the quick connector to run some shrink tubing over the lead wire. Re-inserted clip into connector. Now on to the rest of the wire.
0226210901.jpg

Applied mass quantities of shrink tubing along the length of the turn signal wire for abrasion protection. Threaded through with a long plastic stick.
0226210917.jpg

The quick splice tap failed on first attempt, will most likely solder at first opportunity.
0226210949.jpg

Passenger side, more of the same though I figured out how to disconnect the wire loom. Made crimping and taping up much cleaner.
0226211045.jpg

All told, about an hour of work. So worth it.

Engine bay side covers
0227211730_HDR.jpg

Picked them up on Amazon 30 bucks
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07X9RQF5F?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
The plastic needed a little clean up from mould seams. It also needed some encouragement with a heat gun to lay flat and hang out nicely under the hood gasket. I was a touch over enthusiastic on the driver's side......
0227211441_HDR.jpg

As it turns out, the hood struts fit. Just had to reverse how I bolted them into the hood to clear the covers. There might be a touch of rub on driver's side. Had to move and zip tie the hood release cable as it was blocking the cover.
0227211732_HDR.jpg

The mounting clips that came with are trash. I ended up using some spare ones from my Tacoma.
0227211731a.jpg

It took me a about an hour to install but I had to redo driver's side after figuring out the right way to shape the front on the passenger side.
0227211728a_HDR.jpg

Hood closes flat.
