I am changing the oil on my 2020 Hatchback for the first time, and the standard 20x1.5mm thread size oil filter will not fit. The oil filter that came off of my vehicle says "made in Japan" and looks different than the US made one, and it looks like the thread pitching is 1-2mm smaller?? The standard OEM filter won't fit and I can't figure out why this is the case. I called the Honda dealership and not even they know why. Any ideas?

That's odd. Why don't you show these filters or their part numbers.

try it again and make sure its 100% lined up.

Ive seen some oil filter have what "looks" to be wide opening. But its only the first thread.

Honda really hasnt change there filter thread sizes.
