Still love the car. Not out of Econ mode yet. Great gas mileage. Sound system is great, not the same as in the house but I don't want to change it out. I listen to mostly Classical/Opera anyway. Infotainment is slow but I am in no hurry as I am sure much is going on with the software. Much improved display and information from my 2013 car. I am sure there are better and in 5 years it will be better but what is the hurry, it works and that is what is important. About a 1,000 miles on the car. Love the power seats and auto bright headlights. The seat heaters I can keep it on low for most of the time on very cold days. My other car would burn your bum! Sweet to have a low setting. No rattles yet. Not planning on any mods. I did add my dash cam, did not add my my Passport 8500ci but went with a battery Escort if I wanted to use it. I don't speed just like to know in some small towns if I am being watched.

I added a USB light to the center console and is a mini USB plug. Honda high wall mats, it came with a Honda Hatch liner. I added a Hatch organizer. It came tinted, wheel locks etc. Drives still like a Cadillac compared to the Mini. I just hope the dealer service is good. Love the all black interior. No too dark at all. And glad to have a moonroof again. Clear bar to the whole hood and front. Black car, black interior, dark windows, sweet.

It is such a joy to drive. Not like any car I have had before. No need to speed, I don't want the commute to end too soon. Sit back, relax, enjoy the audio, stress free driving. Driving slower I can see debris in the lanes, less chance of damage to windshield not driving in the fast lane, and watch the idiots pass and jam on the brakes. Total commute time has not changed all that much either.

So what are the alternative? BWM, Audi, Lexis, Cadillac? Not sure for the money I would be more pleased. Another 10or 20K I would be more OCD. And in the end be disappointed. Huge disappointment. Of course it is a daily drive and I don't drive crazy. And the money I saved can be used to correct any issues. How would you like issues after spending 40K? In the end it is a car. It won't last forever. There will be better cars or Civics in the future. Nice to have a Civic. Any model. Thanks.

Great job on the review! I feel the same way! I only have about 400 miles on my 2019 Hatch Sport Touring in SGP [still breaking it in by running econ mode and taking it easy] but I love everything about it. I'm coming from 2016 Civic Touring Sedan [which I loved except for the finicky head unit] and to me, it's like night and day.
The car is a dream to drive and when I go for a ride, I don't want it to end. My wife and I are planning a long road trip for the summer and I can't wait!
Good luck with yours.

Yes I have used my Hatchback as a mini pickup LOL We have done the same with the Focus Hatchback. Love hatchbacks. Biggest complaint after 20,000 miles. I am disappointed in Honda taking the cheap route. The Focus Hatchback Sport has more features than the civic. Window stickers are almost the same. With in a couple of hundred dollars max. The Civic does have 20 more horsepower but that is it. Focus has a better rear camera. More lighting in the interior, gauges, better computer.

What do you mean "more lighting in the interior, gauges, better computer" in the Ford? Better computer, how? More gauges, how?

And I don't feel I need more interior lights or a better backup camera.

What I would have liked in my Civic is more cameras: a left side camera, a front camera, some 360% depiction. I would gladly pay another $1K for these. The front camera would be useful because it is a low car and sometimes I am not sure if I will hit some curb or low barrier while I am parking.

For example, Our Focus has lights in the foot-wells, dual lights back in the hatch/trunk area.glove box light visor vanity lights etc. The back up camera display in the Civic is not good. The Focus has greater clarity and is sharper. The civic is good in the day, at night it sucks. The Focus has a speedometer gage & a tachometer gage separate. then in the small display between them you have different choices for the display but we like the display with the digital speedometer. The display in the dash on the Focus has colors and gives more info than the simple civic display. The cruise control switch's/buttons on the Focus are easier to use. I am constantly turning off the cruise in the civic when I am trying to bump the speed up or down, set or resume. I have replaced the interior lights with LED and it now is much brighter. I replaced the rear hatch area light with LED. I would like to find a better longer distance Low beam bulb & driving light bulb. Oh I dont know if the dealer did it, but when I picked the civic up it had dinky valve stem caps. They Looked bad on those great looking 18" wheels. They didn't even cover up all the threads. So you had brass threads showing up. But I have a small container of caps from my years of selling GM products & replaced them with those. Don't get me wrong. the civic has some pluses compared to our Focus. Last that horn. Woosy horn. weak horn. It needs two horns. A great looking performance car with a sissy horn.

1. I like the digital speedometer in the Civic. The tachometer is also quite good. I wouldn't want them to waste more space with analog speedometer/tachometer, what's the point? So, that's not something I would change. I would actually dislike it if it had even more info. Most of the time all that info is just distracting.

2. I never felt the need for more lights inside the car. Actually, I don't like too many lights inside the car, I find that distracting too. So, I wouldn't change that, either.

3. I never had problems with the adaptive cruise control. It works great and it is easy to use ... and I use it every day. So, I wouldn't change that either.

4. My led headlights also work great, and I like the auto function. In the touring the external lights are perfect, I don't know about the other trims. No changes there for me.

5. A camera with higher definition would be great, I agree with that. Also, better night vision for the camera would be great too! Yes, there is room for improvement with the cameras in this car, I agree.

I wonder if it would help to put brighter LED bulbs in for the reversing white lights.

@midengine driver , does your Sport trim's camera have "Dynamic Guidelines" that curve when you turn the steering wheel? I drove a base model loaner one afternoon when my car was getting worked on and it only had the straight guidelines. I didn't realize how great the Dynamic Guidelines are until I tried to reverse that car into a parking spot.

This is my first post in this forum...hi everybody!

I just recently purchased a 2019 EX Civic Hatchback in Polished Metal Metallic. It is actually the second one I purchased this month...the first one was totalled in an accident with less than 600 miles on it. As a testament to the safety of the car in a front end crash at 35 mph, I walked away without as much as a scratch! That's another story though...

I was a bit skeptical going back to a Civic (my first one was back in '89) after driving a Volvo S60 T5 for 8 years and a S40 before that for 5 years. However I've been pleasantly surprised by the handling and power of the engine. The CVT took some getting used to, but I like it now. Going around corners and turns it feel like it is on rails. When I punch the gas, I can accelerate onto highways with confidence. I REALLY like this car. Civics have come a long way since 1989.

I just thought I'd say hello and say how I share the sentiments of the OP in this thread...this car holds it's own against some of the more upscale European cars.

And it just gets better.
I went out today and put on the Meguairs leather balm on the seats. Only me in the car. Vacuumed the drivers high wall mat and then I wipe it and the pedals with a warm rag. OCD. Windows cleaned with Griots cleaner and their PFM (Pure Freakin Magic) which really leaves no streaks better than newspaper. I keep a little flash light in the car so I can see when I vacuum. Rechargeable battery.

2019 Touring rivals the Cadillac ride. Amazing! And still at 37 MPG. No real performance mods just comfort add ons. Never had the Honda Safety Features before. She likes to drive herself. Love the LKAS. Adaptive Cruise and Auto Brights. Power Seats are awesome. So much comfort after a long day and a long commute.

HiFi? I listen to Classical/Opera. It is fine and I keep the volume at 14/15. Or radio 90.1 HD2. Perfect. Better than Mini Cooper Harmon Kardon. Running 18K miles a year I will trade at 5 years. I don't want to try and rip out and modify stereo. It is not bad. Better than most. The infotainment system a bit slow but then so am I. No worries. Just think, in another 5 years as was my last car this will seem so out dated. Sad but true.

Moonroof is awesome. Especially as I vape and like to have an opening somewhere although vaping is not smoking and the windows don't get screwed up plus no ashes all over the place.

Black car and the dealer tinted the windows. Great move. Looks awesome. Washing it is a dream. You really get to know a car by washing it. The Mini Cooper I had was hard to wash and this is easy. The fog lights are easy to wash. Just try reaching for the Mini Coopers. You feel the difference. Even waxed inside the doors with Carnauba wax. The smell and that shine of a black car. WOW!

Quiet? Very. They added insulation to the 2019. Hardly hear any outside noise. Amazing. And this is an Civic? I tried the Cadillac and CLA Mercedes. I can tolerate more imperfections in a Civic but spending upward of 50K not so much and those car have issues as well. Nothing is perfect just remember that fact.

So the car that likes to take control and drive herself. I call her Christine. After the book. Those who have read it will understand I work with many shitters. I just wish she would take care of business when i am sleeping. Please go out and take care of them!

Work is stressful. Especially for a CPA. Nothing like jumping into a nice car for a long commute home. And even better having that nice car not costing 50K for more. In the end, with work and such. I spend more time with my car than my wife. Long hours as most CPA's. Home dinner and bed. Not much else. So if you spend at least 2 or more hours a day commuting what would you rather drive? The Civic is perfect.

Do I regret not getting a Cadillac or Mercedes? Just wait until the first oil change and then I will tell you. Looking for reasonable maintenance. Most of my colleagues drive a Benz. Impress with dress drive to save money. I just want the comfort/amenities. Certainly Civic has that and more. Besides, the Hatchback is stylish. Love the looks. Two Spoilers. Wow.
