I use my volume knob on my 2019 Si all the time, and love it. Really couldn't go without it. Good thing I waited, I guess...

Not having a volume knob never bugged me. I hit the HVAC knob once trying to turn down the volume and that was when I first bought the car. I almost exclusively use the steering wheel volume control and it hasn't been an issue. Now that I see the knob on the 2019's, I think it looks cheaper and uglier.
That volume knob looks like Honda saying, “you wanted a damn volume button?! Here’s your damn volume button!”. Looks and feels like a shaky plastic button from a 1980s portable boom box. Not at all like the sturdy accord vol button

Note: In the Honda parts list, the KNOB is sold as a separate item.. they probably know it is going to break off easily !!
I would be more worried about hitting the knob my mistake, and breaking it, or the shaft of the actual control.

On the BRIGHT SIDE -- it does open up a whole new line of Accessories ... CUSTOM KNOBS to "make the knob your own" !!

Out of interest, is it a POT, with limited rotation travel, or a digital encoder, that you can spin as much as you want ? (digital encoder being typically much more reliable)

The Fan control is a nice update, but really, how much effort does it take in the 2018 to change the fan speed on the HU. 99% of the time, it's fine in Auto.

You can even get a SKULL Radio knob to match your Skull Shift Knob

Yes the fan buttons are a nice addition. It would be funny to attach a 2 inch vol button though:D

I personally think it’s more functional and responsive than the touch screen. The touch screen looks good, but it doesn’t perform as well. It’s nice having the ability to change either volume or the climate instantaneously.

Honda is pretty good at tweeking the elements of what they create to make them more user friendly and accepted overall. Good work Honda!

Agree. I've hated the touchscreen buttons in my 2015 Si and after driving the 2019 the improvement was apparent. Buttons provide feedback which makes it easier to keep your eyes on the road. If only they added a tuning knob like the Accord.

I do wish that they hadn't buried the climate controls in the screen. In my 2015 it takes 1 press of a button to change the mode, in the 2016+ it takes 2 button presses. That's backwards.

I just got my 2019 Si and the volume knob is sturdy and feels great. Not sure if the one you tested was mistreated but the volume knob feels great and feels just like the 2017 Acura ILX volume knob.

Feel the same way. My 19 volume button looks great and feels strong too.

Plus the new volume knob and buttons look as if were sourced from the spare parts bin. The clean head unit on 18 and below looks better I think

I don't care about the volume knob...but I would love to have those fan buttons at my fingertips....

You can swap the CC and gain a fan knob, I did this earlier this year. CC was $49 on Ebay.
