I agree that the Polk tweeters are way less painful than the factory tweets. If you put in a network to tame the boost, I recommend focusing on killing the 1-2 khz and leaving the 3-4 alone. My measurements suggest there is a bit of a hole from 4 up to 8khz and I would not want to make that worse:I would kill for an equalizer add on that would work on iOS devices... otherwise I’m gonna have to curve it and hopefully add a passive network to the front tweeters to tame the factory boost around the 2-4K area. Changing to silk dome teeeters did help a lot though.

Speaking of non-DSP polk tweeter hacks, if you go to the fabric store and get some 10 mil closed-cell foam like is used by the cos-players and put that in front of the tweeter, you can tame the 8 khz to 12 khz peak:
