What's the rough length of time work like this should take? I know I'm going to have to take mine in, letter should be coming today

I called my local dealer a month ago when I found out my VIN is included. They said they were going to order the part and have me in ASAP. Never heard from them again.
Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie btw
Got the letter today so I’ll try again :/

I just called getting it replaced thursday.
Recall says. 1.5 hours.
The dealer says they need it all day.

ooooh no I wouldn't believe that shit for a minute. Mine goes in on Friday and I'm going to sit there and make sure they don't take it off for a joyride. when you take it in, log the odometer.

Dealer told me it should only take a couple of hours. :D hahahaha I do that when I take the car to my local shop to get the wheels swapped out for the season, I can see them from their lobby

I think you guys are over thinking in.

nobody really wants to risk losing their jobs on a customers car.

if It was their own car they are selling I can see all this happening.

IMO , When working in dealerships you have many chances to drive any car they have in the used lot or any trade in that comes in . Last thing that ever crossed anyone’s righ mind was to get fired for driving a customers car, especially if it was there for a recall or regular service. Can’t speak for smaller shops but at least dealerships they have Less of these cases for a while now.

Took mine in last week- 4 hrs for this and the a/c condenser... taking it back due to not fitting the front exterior parts correctly... they are very apologetic - of course.... i didn't check out the car for a few days after getting it back.... check these things before you drive off (i say to myself now!).

FYI, call your dealer that you wish to have service done at first, so that they can order the part. They have to order it specifically for your VIN. Then they'll schedule you in some time after they expect delivery of the part. I was told it would take 3hrs for them to complete. Hope this helps, take care!

Took mine to the dealer a few weeks ago. Took out my ktuner and recorded milage and left it with no gas. They had my car all day but gave me a free loaner. Honda in Newton NJ.
