Some extra details about the manual mode, according to page 435 of owner's manual:
-while using the paddle shifters, it WILL upshift for you when you approach redline
-under certain circumstances, it will upshift beyond "7th gear" but the dash will still say "7"
-on models with the TFT dash (Sport Touring for US, probably both Sport models in Canada), there is a shift up/down indicator to tell you when to shift, but it's for optimum fuel economy
