Does it sound better with the EX sail panels? I thought of this after I already installed the tweeters. Also, what's the biggest size you can use in the EX sail panel tweeter opening? My tweeters are bigger than normal at 1.1" vs 3/4" like most.

This is my set up.

Do the 1.1's fit in the EX sails? I'm looking at similarly sized tweeters.

Love looking at all the stereo systems in everyone’s hatchback! Just finished up mine. Went with JBL 6.5” components up front and coaxial in back. Skar EVL 6.5” subs. Audio Control lc7i LOC with a Soundstream rn5.2000d amp. Feel like I’m a teenager again!

And btw thank to all of yalls pictures and information it really helped in the build, Upgraded to touring sail panels for tweeter pods and used the tweeter marking on the inside of the rear doors for the rear tweets, ran 1/0 power to the back by making my own hole and grommeting through the firewall. made a amp/crossover rack around the spare tire.....A lot in life has gone on but finally getting to attacking the rest of this project. I had my ddx10's bangin but after a couple of days I burned up my ppi highs amp and i know its due to low voltage from driving the subs so hard so I just installed the new px1200.4 an even though this thing has no info out there for the 150 i paid on amazon it sounds clean, jams and stays cool doing it. Next weekend im making a 1/4" birch plywood floor and staining it and the box black and sealing it and putting it all back in.

I have the JL 10W1v3-4 and 5 channel Alpine X Power MRX-V60 from my Evo just sitting.

My car is a Type R, and I know it’s a performance first car, but the stock audio sucks so bad and I want to address it.

There’s no spare in the R from the factory. The 10” is probably going to be too large to go under this cover, even though it has that odd step down pictured.

Best bet would be to put an 8” under there or mount the 10” on the side, I guess.

The amplifier has speaker level inputs, but it’s been many years since I’ve seen that harness.

Where’s the best place I can look to find some instructions about wiring? I’d also like to have that amp power replacement components.

this is fantastic, super clean. how did these subs hold up? im looking at their new zvx 8's mounting in the same location. sorry for getting up such an old thread
