2017 Civic Type R window sticker reveals $33,900 MSRP!

25k markup. I see 3 possible client types:
- big Honda fan
- too much money and don't care about spending, wanting to try out anything new
- big naive (to be polite) that did not do his homework and without much clue about cars: you get already in Corvette/Porsche/AMG/M price territory. Not even speaking about leases or pre-owned cars where there are even more interesting options(GT-R...). It's enough just to see those cars up close and start the engine that you are stricken by the quality/more substantial feel.

This dealer is now claiming anything above The MSRP will go to charity. Typically charity is through an auction or a donation? Not a mandatory $25,000?!

Contract inked! Although the car literally just rolled off the truck and they have to perform PDI which will be done by their master tech on Monday, the car is mine!

Ok, very excited right now... but here is the story...

On Friday I got a call & text from my old Manager at the honda dealer I used to work at and @jdmk20akid askimg me to pick a color for my Type R, I responded quickly with Red or Blue and then I got the bad news (sort of) that it will be a 2018 and I would not get it until January. I was happy but bummed since it would be another 6 month before I could finally get my Type R and I really wanted a first year 2017.

Then today I get the a text/call from the same 2 people telling me they had earned another Type R and that if I wanted it it would be a Championship White, 2017' coming in around August... Of course I jumped on it... So excited, getting pretty much all I wanted (originally wanted white but the wife was not happy with that color choice) and in only a couple of months it'll be here. All this at MSRP + tax, tag & fee...
