Hey everyone. I bought my car from the auction a few months ago & I finally managed to get the car on the road again. My wastegate solenoid actuator has the tab broken where the engine wiring harness connects but still works fine. I would like to change it but the dealer only sells the turbo along with it. They do not sell this part separately. Can I use the wastegate solenoid from another non si civic that’s also a 1.5L turbo? I’ve attached an image of the solenoid. Also I’d like to know if the solenoid can come from a sedan or does it have to be from a coupe civic

Just based on that image I'd guess it won't work on the Civic but I'm not sure.

PRL sells the correct replacement.

Although if you're only replacing it because the plastic connector is broken...pack it with dielectric grease and seal it up with electrical tape and call it a day.
Yup. I was thinking the same but my engine has been idling super weird. I have a few error codes popping up from a few other things so that could be the culprit too

Just to give you a heads up there is a specific calibration procedure for the electronic wastegate. If you are simply swapping it there shouldn't be an issue as long as you didn't fiddle with the adjustment arm (if it is relatively within spec).

HOWEVER, if you are experience error codes refer to this guide: https://www.full-race.com/articles/honda-civic-type-r-fk8-electronic-wastegate-actuator-calibration/

Yes I know this is in regards to a Type R but you can use this procedure.

Another resource I used was from another build thread on this forum. I forgot the original usernames but this is the archived conversation which features some information to complete the process in a rudimentary way. (The message screenshots should be attached in order.)

Can’t even begin to tell you how helpful this was. Been struggling with this actuator. Much appreciated!

Does anyone know if the si and non si actuator are the same?
