Honda paint's and CC's are waterbased. What a idiot he is.I'm having a hard time seeing exactly what it is.
But by the sounds of it, pretty similar to what I had... 2 spots on my hatch.
Body shop manager ended up bringing 2 bottles outside and got it cleaned up.
Wiped it down and was clean.
I was like... "Hmm, what type of solvent is that?"
PAINT THINNER!
***screams***
Then he took liquid compound and buffed with a microfiber towel!
Uhhh... I cringed so hard!
They said they have already seen others with the same paint issues so it was quickly on to the next issue, the steering wheel.Did you dealer have to contact corporate?
Really repainting the hood? So much for the "original paint." I would not settle for that.Update from my dealer today. They said they are completely repainting the hood. Unsure what they will do for the other couple spots on the car.
Its not gonna be a Maaco jobReally repainting the hood? So much for the "original paint." I would not settle for that.
Yeah I just hate the idea of a re-spray. I wonder if they can remove the clear and just put on a new clear coat? Let me know how it goes, I may have to do it too. I would take it all the way to Honda of America before I settle for a re-spray. Which I might have too. Just give me a new factory painted hood under warranty. Its not gonna be a Maaco job
Does it have to be by the same dealer i bought the car from, or can it be another Honda Dealer?Car is under warranty, all paint problems have to be fix for you by the dealer. In replacing body parts with new coatings, that is not happen unless it's damage beyond repair by a shop.
