Just wanted to let everyone know the limitations to the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport 6SP for the United States spec cars. I did my best to not endanger anyone and be in a safe environment, so please consider that before blasting the comments. Car is 100% stock, eco mode was turned off, and running 91 octane. ECU limits the car from going past 130MPH which is at 5k RPM.

Definitely electronically limited, isn't it? It walked right up the steps and stopped -- 127,128,129,130...... Not like it struggled at all.

130 you say? I've gotten mine into the 120's a few times on long, straight, back-country roads and it was still pulling some power like it could hit at least 140. I never wanted to actually know what the top end on this car is, now that I do I'm disappointed.

Manufacturers usually limit the speed to the speed rating of the tires they equip the car with. With H speed rated tires manufacturers will limit speed to 130 mph. With S speed rated tires its 112 mph.

I just made this post to give everyone my experience of the top speed the car will do when it is 100% stock. As others have stated, removing the governor will give the car the opportunity to reach higher speeds.

If you watched the video, I was going all out on a slight decline for about 15 seconds and the car would not go in excess of 130mph, even though the car had another 1500rpm to redline.

Feel free to post your top speed if its higher

Every car in the US, except for some exceptions for Performance cars, is electronically limited to 130MPH.

This has been known for years. You could have just found out by asking instead of doing 130 on public roads.

Some are limited to 112 MPH, some at 100 mph, depending on tires and drivetrain.

Now we know it actually pulls to 130+ because we have actual proof.
