Hmm, I actually like it OK. And I hate speedometers that go to like 180 MPH which you are never going to get anywhere close to, so most of your driving ends up using only a tiny range of the meter, reducing accuracy and readability.

Still, I don't see why they couldn't make a faux analog speedometer an option on the screen since they already have it for the tach.
Yeah, my big problem is it's really easy to see movement in a needle, so super easy to maintain 70, or whatever speed. Much easier to notice the car losing or gaining momentum.

In general, I too, like a good analog gauge, but have you seen the cluster/display in the 2017 E-Class?

It's drool-worthy...

I'm in the market for either of these two vehicles and these two vehicles only. I've gotten quotes for the WOP Civic touring for $25,xxx + TTL.

However for the 2016 Lexus IS200T F sport I got quoted for $38,xxx + TTL.

Another quote for a 2016 Lexus IS 200T F sport for $43,xxx OTD.

Help me decide!

For what it's worth, I test drove both the 2016 Touring Civic and 2016 Lexus IS200t (F-sport pkg), and I can say the Lexus was more comfortable and had a better ride, but was not faster. Lexus puts a lot of effort in to a quiet comfortable cabin with great feeling materials everywhere you can touch. If you go down the list of features (especially tech features), I think the Touring Civic would win hands down. That said, if they were the exact same price, I'd be driving the Lexus just based on seat comfort and road noise alone. If you have any doubt about how much more comfortable and quite the Lexus is, go test drive it. Is it worth the extra money? I don't personally think so.

My wife has a 2015 Acura TLX V6, and I definitely prefer the TLX over the IS200t, although I admit the handling on the IS200t feels (probably is) lighter and more nimble thru the turns.

BTW: Sales guy at the Lexus dealer said that over 80% of Lexus vehicles are leased and not purchased/financed. So the pricing of the vehicles are based on the fact that most people aren't going to be paying for more than half the msrp.

In general I don't like Mercedes new "swoopy" design language, but what I do like is their return to the round air vents from the 80s and 90s! In the early 2000s I almost bought a Grand Am Gt and in hindsight realized the only thing I really liked about it was the round air vents :p

Seriously?

Your asking us which is better on a Civic forum. Let's see, a $25k Civic, or a $38k-$43k Lexus. Boy, that's a tough one.

We already know it outclasses the ILX, but what about Lexus' counterpart? I know most likely the Lexus will outclass the civic in the handling and interior department, but I think it's still an interesting comparison to do.

Lexus IS 200T:
RWD
0-60 = 6.9s
Lexus Proprietary interface for your phone (horrible reviews)
32mpg hwy, 22mpg city

Wheelbase: 110.2 in
Height: 56.3 in
Width: 71.3 in
Length 183.7 in

$15,000 more than the civic

Civic Touring - Sedan:
FWD
0-60 = 6.8s
Android Auto/Apple Carplay
42mpg hwy, 35 city

Wheelbase: 106.3 in
Height: 55.7 in
Width: 70.8 in
Length 182.3 in

HAHA

Ok this comparison starts to get into a larger discussion based on more than money, performance, and features. Lexus in general is just a notch or so above an Acura product in terms of fit and finish, types of material, brand/dealer experience, and even reliability.

The IS 200T IMO is just a more evocative design that makes an ILX or Civic look like a piece of unshaped clay. While the performance for the Civic Turbo and ILX are just as good if not better 0-60, handling is simply better on any Lexus. Yes the Lexus IS 200T is extremely overpriced, but it also offers variants that both Honda and Acura can't touch with available sports tuning F-Sport, AWD, and V6 motors.

If you really don't care about badges, than why not compare the Civic Touring to a Kia/Hyundai? Because with those cars they offer a lot of bang for the buck like lumbar support and optional ventilated seats.

I know this sounds judgmental and materialistic but if you drive up to valet your car at a nice restaurant in your Civic Touring and the guy might jump in and say this is a NICE Civic! You drive in with a Lexus and you might get a few stares and the idea that this guy is a tad higher on the food chain compared to some. Is this a valid way to measure a human being, no. But remember it's the same thing with fashion, I wear a nice custom made English suit with fine super 120 wool or I walk up with an off the rack baggy JC-Penny suit, which one is going to create more emotions? So yes you are paying thousands and thousands more for a Luxury car, but for some that is well worth it, which makes this comparison just ill logical. Oh btw the IS sells maybe 5k at most a month on a good month the Civic sells 35k without blinking, so there is this mentality of not having what everyone has as well.
