Just found out my Civ was born on May 25, 2017. Swindon Plant was where it was assembled but it's born when it is ready to be sold, not when it was built, apparently, per Honda. Love my UK VIN 'Vic!!!

The year digit has to change at the least.Are these the same for the 2018 Hatchbacks?
FK8 = Type RNow that we have some VIN's for the hatch, I think the guide can be updated:
Numbers 4-6:
FC3 = coupe 1.5T
FC4 = coupe 2.0NA
FK7 = hatch
Number 7:
A = coupe manual
B = coupe CVT
G = hatchback manual
H = hatchback CVT
Number 10:
H = 2017MY
Number 11:
U = Swindon plant
Not sure if number 8 for the hatch will conform to the existing guide, but I'm guessing it will
I'm wondering the same thing. My 2018 EX-T with Sensing sedan has first 3 digits of JHM, plant code of X.Does anyone know what plant X is? It's not even on Wiki. Have a 2018 EX-L Sedan Made in Japan.
Finally thought to look at the window sticker.I'm wondering the same thing. My 2018 EX-T with Sensing sedan has first 3 digits of JHM, plant code of X.
From https://www.azbil.com/case/aac/app_028/app_028a.htmlHonda’s Saitama Factory, which consists of Sayama Automobile Plant, Yorii Automobile Plant, and Ogawa Plant, accomplishes the entire process of automobile production, from pressing of the auto body parts to welding, painting, and assembly, and serves as a manufacturing point for Honda’s other 68 production bases located in 27 countries (including Japan). The Yorii facility in particular, which has been in operation since July 2013, stands out as one of the largest production sites in Japan, producing 250,000 cars annually. Honda employs all sorts of advanced technology in this plant in order to reduce environmental impact by minimizing CO2 emissions from the manufacturing process, and also to improve product quality. Honda expects the factory to be a “mother factory” that shares her knowledge with overseas production bases.
“For the Yorii Automobile Plant, adoption of the most advanced technology was a requirement already in the plant construction plan, not only for the environment and for quality, but also for safety, which is the most important thing on the production line. Particularly for automobile production lines, the air conditioning of paint booths, where strict control of temperature and humidity is required, and the safe control of gas burner combustion, which is a very important function in the drying stage after painting and the exhaust deodorization stage, were the main concerns,” says Yuji Ito, an engineer in the Production Supervisory Unit.
J = 2018. For some reason, they skip "I".So mine is JHM and X as well, #24,697. The year though it says J... so is that like 2019??? It's a car from the FUTURE!
Because it can be mis-transcribed as 1. They also omit the letter O. Can't remember if there are others.For some reason, they skip "I".
How do you figure out the exact day? I could only find the year and month.Just found out my Civ was born on May 25, 2017. Swindon Plant was where it was assembled but it's born when it is ready to be sold, not when it was built, apparently, per Honda. Love my UK VIN 'Vic!!!
