I just got a civic 2019. I think something could be wrong with the 7th digit:

19X = Indiana Plant
FC1 = Sedan Turbo (1.5T)
6 = ?
7 = Sedan EX-T
0 = check digit
K = 2019
E = Indiana Plant
500,188 = Sequential Number in Plant

Yours would actually be the 00,188 civic made at the Indiana plant!

Bringing this back from the dead.
Maybe someone can shed some light on this. The last 6 of my VIN are 756004.

There’s no way these are in sequential order! That would mean there are over 756,000 Si’s before me?

Have they’ve even made that many civics in total in Alliston Ontario in the last couple years? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It wouldn't be the 756004 civic SI it just means what # it is that they've made they group all the sedans and coupes together and Alliston cranks out the civic sedans. Mine was #25600 made in Alliston and I've had it since June 2016 so there easily at that many civics since 2016.

Now that we have some VIN's for the hatch, I think the guide can be updated:

Numbers 4-6:
FC3 = coupe 1.5T
FC4 = coupe 2.0NA
FK7 = hatch

Number 7:
A = coupe manual
B = coupe CVT
G = hatchback manual
H = hatchback CVT

Number 10:
H = 2017MY

Number 11:
U = Swindon plant

Not sure if number 8 for the hatch will conform to the existing guide, but I'm guessing it will
Number 10: k=2019

I have a 2020 EX hatch. My 8th digit shows as an LX Sedan with Honda Sensing. However, it's an EX hatch. Also, my 11th digit isn't shown in the table above.

So does this mean I had the 756,004th civic to come out of Alliston?

Or was mine the 004th Si coupe out of the 756th batch?
So confusing hahahah :rofl:

My VIN is 2HGFC3A50JH756004.
So that tells me simply it's a 2018 civic Si coupe with the 1.5T and it came out of Alliston.

Another thing confusing me is my 8th and 9th digit (being 50)
Is this image below outdated?, because coupes arent listed below under "5" and "0" I assume is a * check digit that doesnt mean anything?

I'm confused... How is G year 16? Wouldn't it be 17? I know my car is a 18, but the letter is j ... This is the only confusing thing. It can't be 19 cause I was driving it in mid 18 ...

A=0
B= 1
...
G=6
H=7
(skip "I" because it can be confused with number one)
J=8

Can someone decode this VIN. I think I’m reading it wrong lol

19XFC2F72JE014976
19X = Honda Indiana passenger vehicle
FC2 = 2.0L 4 Dr Civic
F = CVT
7 = EX trim
2 = check digit
J = 2018 model year
E = Honda Indiana plant
014976 = your Civic is the 14976th one made at Honda Indiana for the 2018 model year (not really always necessarily the case but it's one interpretation)

Anyone know what the check digit actually means?
