A CivicX reader sent these renderings of the 2016 Honda Civic sedan to us which are based on the patent drawings that we reported recently.

What do you think, does it appear to be the likely design for the X generation Civic?

I definitely wouldn't kick it out of bed! :p

I would be happy with that for a production look. Very nice work on the renderings!

Damn that looks sharp, much better than in the patent images! Rear overhang seems a bit longer on the drawings though and the trunk should be pointier?

Looks like they definitely shortened the overhangs front and back compared to the patent images. But i think it looks great. Alot more depth. The patent renderings are a bit, flat. The various openings and cutouts on the patent pictures don't really represent the depth of these and overall it flattens the design. Would love to see them do the coupe like this next!

I'm hoping it looks more like this since the patent drawings look like they were flattened/stretched. A bit long for my taste but could just be my preference for a coupe. It is a huge improvement seeing it in nice color/shiny 3D than a flat sketch. Thanks for posting.

Amazing how much better it looks in 3D and in color compared to the patent drawing. I'm more interested in the coupe do you have 3D images of that?

I'd love to see a more aggressive body kit on this. It's got good bones.

Very nice. Liking the interior dash even more. Looks like the gauge cluster is split into 3 parts. And looks like it'll have some good depth, not too flat and boring like the accord. Also leads me to think there will be analog and digital gauges as well. Based on some of the lines on the passenger side, looks like it'll keep the faux stitching look like the 9th gen has, which i like. overall has a nice sloping wrap around feel to it, like a cockpit that hugs the driver in place. Cant wait!

I just posted these on another forum. I'd have to say, these are the most accurate renderings so far. Most of the previous renderings didn't get the lights and grill correct, but these actually look like they should.

Reminds me a little of a Volvo S60 sedan from the back. Not that that's a bad thing I like how the S60 rear looks.
