I FINALLY got my Z back Sunday & headed up to VIR to instruct for TrackDaze.

I had my Forgelines & Pirelli DH scrubs mounted on Monday (still on OEM wheels & Cup 2 tires in this Sunday pic). Also had my rear AP Racing brakes mounted.

After getting some intercooler tank issues resolved, I ended the event playing on an open full course with another instructor in a 2019 Z06 on the same tires.

There were maybe 1 or 2 other cars on track the last half hour of open track time.

I got my PB of 2:03.0 and his best was a smoking 1:59.9. Anything under 2:00 is very quick on a production car on VIR Full. I felt pretty good & maybe can say driving the Type-R made me a better driver. :)

There was a student with a black Type-R I chatted with.

I missed the Type-R a bit & wondered if I should have kept it. Would have been a fun counter to the Z06.

The Z06 is back in the shop getting LT headers installed and a tune.

She'll be back out in a few weeks.

I know it's not a Type-R, but I can post some video of us from the PDR.

Cheers!

I knew it would tug at you regardless of the power of your new ride!!

hahahah the calling of the Type R bud - go get one later to complete your stable!

Enjoy your new ride - but you know you need to get back into an R at some point - nothing feels like this car - I've had a LOT of cars.

It as a really fun car. With a wider set of 18" wheels & R-comps or slicks this car would be unreal.

It looks like it's still for sale...

I think I’ve pretty much sorted out the overheating if that’s the reason for you selling the CTR

No, mine never overheated.

I did get one warning, but it never went into limp mode.

Would be interested in what you did because mine ran wickedly hot.

There’s a lot of little things that make up the entire cooling package for my car. The biggest component being the C&R/PWR track radiator. If you skim through my build thread I list all of my mods and how they’ve improved the car

VIR full is sheer bliss. Uphill esses at 130ish mph? Yes please.

I so miss racing. Not all the time that went into the upkeep and prep, but I do miss the actual racing.

I’ve always felt spoiled having such a gorgeous, world-class track so close to home.

Glad you enjoyed and I’m sure the Z06 is a blast to drive there.

Fuck off making me click your build thread and seeing that glorious picture of your hood.

I mean thanks!
