Thanks everyone for the info, I ended up going with 235/40R18 Michelin Pilot sport 4s tires because i got a good deal on them. So I shouldn't have to worry as much about rubbing now.

So I am assuming 18x8.5 +37 on a 235/40 should be fine?
Should be seems like a your results may vary situation depending on tire choice and model from waht ive researched

You will have no rub.
I am looking for this setup with Eibach Pro Kit. Wheels would be 18x8.5 +38 - I am looking at Pirelli Pzero PZ4 tires - would these rub?

If it does it should only be on the screw/tab that can easily be "rolled"

Thank you. I am assuming that I can do the rolling myself with basic tools? I don't think I have a rubber hammer, is there an alternative to this?

Quick update. Been running my 245/40r18 tires on 18x8.5 +38 offset now for a week and 300 miles minimal amount of rubbing. Once minor on a small dip in the pavement at about 40mph and another time in a small section of rough road surface. Very minor and could probably go without any fender rolling on a lowered car even.

With the 245 michelins and eibach sway bars and springs, it is stupid how much grip this thing has. Probably competitive on cornering ability to a Type R with similar tires.

Here is my unofficial verdict after test fitting the tire/wheel combo tonight. If you want to go with an 18x8.5 +35-40mm wheel, stick with a 235/40r18. There is not much clearance at all between the tire and the fender. I would be concerned in the front if turning hard and the suspension compresses half an inch or more. I think with the wheels perfectly straight, the negative camber gain will be enough to cause the wheel to lean inward and prevent rubbing when the suspension compresses further. With the wheel cut left or right it may be a different story. I've read of guys running 18x9.5's with similar offset but don't know how that would be possible.

Hi there apologies in advance if this topic is stale, I'm picking up a set of Michelin pilot sport a/s 3 + and was also thinking of running 245 40 r18 on 18x8.5 38 wheels as well, I have a sport touring hatchback on stock suspension. Will I run into any rubbing issues if I dont plan on lowering anytime soon? My other option is to run 245 35 r18 with 18x8.5 38 wheels to accommodate the later drop on coilovers. TY in advance
