Hello all,

I've been going back and forth on getting 18s or 19s for my new 2016 Civic LX. Are there any thoughts and/or feedback either way? My ultimate goals are to make it look classy (obviously by replacing the steel wheels), ride comfort, and performance (in terms of traction and handling).

Thanks!

Cheers,
Nathan Zachary

18s no doubt. With 19s, youd have to go to a 35 profile tire, which would not only make the ride uncomfortable, but would also hurt performance.

Thanks a lot for your reply and suggestion. I was leaning toward 19s, but thought that they would be a bit much. I'm a very, how do you say, "spirited" driver (probably due to driving that ITR for too many years ), so the handling is the most important part to me. If there are any suggestions on tires, I'm open to that as well. Thanks again for the +1 on 18s.

I have 245/40-18 tires, and honestly I'm probably going to get rid of them and get 215/45-18. The tires poke too much on wheels that actually have correct fitment. 215s would look perfect.

Not to mention the ride would be better, and more than likely this car handles better with smaller tires.

Yes me too. Right now I'm about to get 18x8 rims 35 offset with 215/40r18 tires . I hope it looks dope ! I been trolling on these forums trying to see if anybody has used them on there civic yet . I keep seeing people use 245/40r18 tires .

As others have said, going with 19 would look a bit silly IMO, and not only increase the risk of rim damage / flat tire, but hurts performance in a few ways. Stick with a 17 or 18 if you're going aftermarket.

So between a (18x8) or a (18x9.5) Wheel which is better to go with a 215/45/18 tire?

No way a 215 size tire is going to work well with a 9.5" wide rim.

Believe me I've had this dilemma already in my head and I'm sold on not getting 19s. Just too big and risky with a 35 series tire. My luck I'd hit a pothole once and break a really expensive rim

These are 18x8 Koenig wheels . They ride pretty good .No issues so far . I would say stick with 18s but that's my opinion.
