That setup won't rub but your 7" wheel is going to be a lot better setup with a 215 for winter. I would put the summer tires on the 9" wheel.

I run a 17x9 +40 with 255/40 summer tire but run the OEM 18x8 in winter. No rub on prokit.

Yep. You want to run a narrower tire in winter. Wide tires are great for grip and handling in normal conditions but if it snows, watch out.

Thanks, so I will rub with that set up? I went for the 235 winter tires because I always thought wider tires will get better traction in winter, and winter here is brutal

17x9 235/45/17 (or 245/45/17) is a set up I have been looking at as well, But only for summer time. It gives more sidewall for comfort but also seems to have nice width.

But I just bought 18x9 +35 wheels. i am debating between 235/40/18 or 245/40/18.

But I have a set of 17x7 215/50/17 snow tires on steelies. apparently narrower tires are better for winter according to internet.

I lowered with spoon springs this summer (1.2 drop?). This winter will be the first time using them.
