Interesting it's Left hand drive
why does that surprise you? hatchback production will most likely be moving to the US for 11th gen as the Swindon plant is closing.

Is it me or does it look like an ugly Dodge Charger? Or an overgrown Neon SRT?

I don’t see the BMW comparisons, I highly doubt the grill is going to have a split design when it gets to the production stages. I also feel like this car is too small to be an Accord. Wouldn’t be a wild imagination to think this could be a Civic, the Civic has been growing and growing each generation. Hell, the 10th generation technically is mid-size (although barely just getting in that classification if we’re using EPA standards) even though Honda calls it compact still.

What is this black magic?!
Can you do this with the current type-r too?
Equally as ghetto, but the proportions seem to fit in some areas better than the Accord

We just got our first look at what appears to be the next-generation Honda Civic for 2022! Even more interestingly, the new prototype has made its debut in the Civic's hot, Type R trim.

Industry reports claim that the new Civic will ride on Honda’s new global platform, so we may be looking at a massively overhauled model to take advantage of global synergies. The camouflage hides the finer degrees of surface development, but it looks like this prototype has less overt styling compared to the current Civic Type R. It’s clear from this prototype, however, that there is plenty of audacity still in store for the new Type R, with a massive rear wing, a deep front-fasica, and chunky wheels and tires with Brembo brakes.

Our shooter claims that this prototype was very recently registered, and is very new to the test circuit, so this is a developing story. Stay tuned for more info, and hopefully a look at the 2022 Civic in other trim levels.

Next gen Civic Type R confirmed! Also looks like AWD is likely, given what appears to be a diff housing in the rear. Glad to see the CTR will live on, maybe it will stop the d-bag price gouging by most dealers...

I did some ghetto photoshop editing to see if the Accord body fits with the spyshot.. it does in some areas, but doesn't in others. As some have noted, the rear end is too short compared to the current Accord.

Yeah this model looks a foot shorter than the accord and I really doubt theyre going to make the accord smaller .

Nice work.

Isn’t it weird that the 11th gen CTR gets leaked before the base 11th gen?

Any guesses where this will be manufactured? Ohio plant?

The Civic hatch is also shorter than the Civic sedan, so it could be an Accord Type R. All the press is mentioning it as a CTR, but maybe that's a bit of marketing magic on Honda's half to hide/build hype? Does seem weird to release an ATR at this point in the generation's life cycle though.

The front end is really Charger, I don't see the BMW resemblance too much. Looks aside, let's see what performance comes with this model before we pass judgement. Do they go AWD? Hybrid?

It looks like quite the overhaul. The front screams beemer to me, which I'm not a fan of.

This is a new car. It's not a refresh.
That's why it does not look like current gen Type-R, or current gen Accord.
Just like how 10th gen civic doesn't look anything like the 9th gen.

Also, let's remember that these test mules rarely use production parts at this stage of the development.
So whatever you see isn't exactly what you will see when it actually comes out.
Oh and let's not forget that the whole thing's covered in camo lol I see a lot of people with some x-ray vision or something.
Exactly! Do we even see any Honda badge to prove it's a Honda?
