For a 2018 that should be a good price. In NH for a 2019 I was offered $23k from a few dealers. About 2 months ago I got offered $22.5k for a 2018 without even trying.
any reason you havent bought one yet? they cheap, just buy it.

Local dealer is supposed to be finding me a 2018 $22.3 inc destination (tossing in floor mats as well). If they don't come through at this point I will go for a 2019 but I'm willing to wait for a similar deal - car went up $200 so $22.5 is my max and I'd do the deal the next day.

This is the quote I got from a dealer in CA(bay area) for a 2019 Honda Civic Si:

$25,195.00 - MSRP
-$1,502.00 - Discount
===================
$23,693.00 - Sales Price
+$2,156.58 - Sales Tax based on Residence
+$499.75 - DMV Registration ($381.00) + Electronic Filing Fee ($30.00) + Doc Fee ($80.00) + CA Tire fee ($8.75)
+$189.00 - Security Etch
=====================
$26,538.33 - Total Out The Door

Is this a good deal? Also what is a Security Etch fee? Never heard of it.

From what was explained to me at my local dealership, the security etch is a unique etching into parts (they showed me etching inside the trunk door) of your car so that those parts could be located should your vehicle ever be stolen and sold for parts. The etching is done by a 3rd party, not Honda. Supposedly the company that does the etching will pay you $2,000 or some other amount if ever they cannot locate any stolen etched parts from your car. Again, this is only my understanding from what a salesperson briefly explained to me.

As far as the price they quoted you, I'm personally looking for a price closer to $25,000 after being told mid to high $28,000 by two different dealerships in Northern California.

Huggins Honda, around DFW just quoted me - $28k drive out. Lol. Going to wait till spring. Dealers are just nuts. I might chuck Honda and buy WRX for 2k more.

I am sure I say this for all potential buyers watching this forum - ALL of us would at that price. I don't think thats happening till spring or later.

Edit: typo corrected.

Just to complete things did get the 2018 (black) for 22,300 had them throw in the Honda winter floor mats at that price.
Interesting that the date on the vehicle inspection form was June so the car has been sitting for ~6 months.

Picked up used winter tires and wheels (17”) for $300 waiting for the centering rings and extended thread lug nuts I ordered to come in. Hopefully before we get any real snow and that’s looking fairly positive as nothing predicted short term.

Have thought of playing games with taxes in NH, register it there using a friends address for 6 months then transfer ....

Have never bothered.

Yes, I agree. Thats why I said for 2019s, its not happening till spring. I can't get them to even negotiate on 2019 Si. Best is about $300 off MSRP. I have pretty much ruled out honda at this point- no stock for 2018, no negotiations on 2019. Might go back to Lexus. Hate that I have to choose between driving pleasure and car ownership experience. I guess Subaru might be a good balance. Will know more this weekend after I test drive Mazda 3 HB.
