Hey guys
Just got my gramlights 57DR wheels for my cars 10k Birthday.
Here is my thoughts and would love some positive feedback as well.

Pro- wheels look great
Con - I don’t love the gap, did I get too small of a tire? 255 35 18 ( what tire would have looked better ? Or should I just drop it?)

Pro - car responds better to downshifts and overall power.
Con- Doesn’t seem to stick the power as much on the low gears. Firehawk tires.... did I not get a sticky enough
tire?

Pro - car seems lower to the ground and overall looks amazing

Con - speedometer is off, can hondata fix it? I already have it?

Pro- my exhaust seems to be louder ( might be a con for others)
Con- turning with throddle was not as controlling-
Am I missing something?
I thought after market wheels would provide tons of pros but I am finding the cons overwhelming.
Anyone else in the same boat??

255/40 would have been closer to stock diameter to keep speedo right (what I'm running)
Did you correct tire pressures for the size change? I'm at 28psi front 27 rear.

The size is better than fine, that is where you should be.
Get some Swift springs ASAP!
They close the gap and ride like a GO-KART!!!

Those wheels!! Love them.

you love the ride.

I have Tein springs in my garage.

Did you drop and wait to do alignment? Or drop and alignment same day?

I checked them and they put them at 36 psi all the way around.

what should front and back be?
Will that turn off the tpms?
I already attempted to recalibrate and it didn’t fix the issue. That would be great if that fixed it.

But also go out and drive at those pressures and see how they feel. I tend to run 26 and 25 psi in the summer. Just cold season I go up a bit. You will have to recalibrate the tpms after any change.

Same wheel, same tire spec lowered on Swifts.

Edit: Even on a 200tw tire, traction is an issue on a custom tune with bolt ons.

You recalibrate Speedo?
Tpms go off?

did lowering improve your turning because that is my biggest con right now.
I accelerated thru a turn and was really disappointed with how it handled compared to stock?

keep in mind it is about 30degrees here in NY.

will things improve with a drop and some warm weather?

1. No I didn't recalibrate the speedo. It's off by less than 3%. Not enough of a concern to me.
2. Yes, TPMS will go off any time you change wheels/tires. Its a simple calibration procedure.
3. Yes, The car corners better now than stock ride height on stock wheels, IDC what any of the "purists" say about offsets, etc. My car is tracked and holds its own against a lot of cars.
4. It's 30° here in WI too. I don't drive the car in winter, but the car is comfortable and well mannered in the summer. If I were you, I wouldn't be running 340tw tires in 30° temps.
265/35/18 would have looked and fit better tbh
Not with a +38 offset, especially if he ever plans on lowering.

No offense but the "purists" would probably run a real suspension setup with coilovers. Not blow the shit out of oem struts. But lowering has nothing to do with the feeling of the car should feel the same with the new wheels as stock if the right temps and pressures.

Lol. Show me one person running coilovers and stock 20's in any manner of competition. I'll wait.

That said I know a dozen people personally lowered on OEM struts that track the car and haven't seen anyone "blow the shit out of OEM struts". Again, I'll wait.

And how are you gonna say that springs with higher spring rates should feel like stock?

No offense.

Stock wheels always were crap. No argument there. Coilovers will always be better then lowering springs. Who has 80k miles on the lowering springs to tell us? No one.
And I meant no offense, I wish I had half the money the type r owners on here had... definitely humble just the issue here has nothing to do with lowering or not. Traction is only tire related unless we are drag racing here.

I could buy coilovers with no issues. And Maybe I will in the future. But I love the flexibility ADS system fo a summer/track car. Maybe some day if the car is ever relegated to a track only car, I will reevaluate my position, but for now I love the flexibility of my setup.
