$1 cabin air filter; I must admit that this is not satisfactory.

I bought a brand new high quality heating/ air conditioning air filter for $5 at a second hand store.
I can make 4 filters.

How to I make; short answer with pictures.

2nd picture show a jobber air filter to copy the dimensions.
3th picture; filter ready to put in the car, just squeeze it in the car filter box.

Filters are so very cheap and plentiful, why bother fooling around with something made up, that might not function as intended ? !

It is easy to answer to your question by order.

1- Cheap at $19 cnd at my door ! IMO no for a 8" X 8 piece of paper. Price in Canada are higher than in USA .
2- I made it fist for fun. Fall season are boring here....
3- Air filter is not rocket science.

After few month of test, I must admit that this is not satisfactory.
The filter lacks rigidity and at worst it could end up in the fan. It did not happen but it could.
It is distorted and shows parts that are not filtered.

Modifications would probably be possible but it would not be economical as was the idea at the beginning.
