Hey, I just got a Civic 2017 Touring. And found out later on forums that 1.5T trends to have an oil dilution problem. Its 70k km in the car. I don't see any significant oil dilution in my car yet, but what to expect? I live in Northern Canada, and I want the car to last longer. Still have warranty till 2024. Share your opinions on 1.5T + CVT tandem. Should I be scared of the things some people say about it? Or are there people who have 1.5T with no issues and big milage? What to expect from the owning?

Just drive it long enough for the engine to fully warm up. Avoid short trips if possible. Use quality oil and change it on time.

Enjoy your excellent car.

I’ve had a 2018 Touring since new and drive 30km highway one way to work.
I hadn’t noticed any issues with oil dilution even before the Honda product update.
Mine also runs a 21psi KTuner CVT tune also.
The oil gets changed every 10k regardless of what the Maintenance Minder says.
Don’t drink the Kool-Aid, all GDI engines will do some amount of oil dilution because of how they’re designed.
Easiest way to fend off oil dilution?
Get the motor up to operating temperature daily and change the oil more often than the car tells you to and you won’t have any problems.
