17 si here as well, I know what smell your talking about it’s not really a burning smell. More a carbon smell. Happens to me when I push my car more than I usually do. I’m not entirely sure what the smell is because it happens even after a fresh oil change and it’s not the brakes. Curious if this happens to the type R’s as well.

The R is the first car I ever owned that it doesn't have that "carbony" smell after pushing it really hard, my s2k , 9th gen si and ep3(both stock motor and k20a2 swap and yes Im fan boy lol) had that smell about 300-400 miles after fresh oil change but the R still does not and im about 3500 miles on factory oil and i pushed the car 7-8x to the limit because why not I didn't buy it to look it only lol pretty surprised that it doesn't smell like ass after redlining couple times in a row, but it is still bone stock, so I don't know if that will change after I start tuning it
