After having compressors replaced twice and a condenser replaced once, it looks like my A/C system is not working again thanks to an evaporator that needs to be replaced.
I've moved away from the original dealer who repaired my compressor. It should still be covered under the 1 year parts/labor warranty if I go to another dealer, right?
2016 Civic
history:
2018: cold air not blowing on driver's side. Dealer diagnosed that suction hose clasped and repaired. Added refrigerant. Under warranty.
2019: same symptoms as last year. damaged compressor. Charged me 1400 to replace. I called corporate and they provided 50% coverage, so...
AC broke for the third time. Paid for repair the second time. I'm out of warranty. Is there any legal action I can take like trying to use California lemon law?
Seriously, please make your voice heard. I was definitely suffering headaches when I found my A/C broken down in the middle of summer. How it can not be a safety concern is questionable.

Good luck. I had the exact same experience as you. "Fixed" it supposedly the first time under warranty with diagnosis of a "collapsed hose" and need to refill the refrigerant. 16 months later reported it out of warranty and got quoted $1400 to repair a leaking compressor. What a coincidence that...
Thanks Stevie.
Looks like it's settled with my case manager. They're offering 50% coverage out of the $1400, so I'm out $700 thanks to Honda "excellence". This will be my last Honda, unfortunately. Really don't know how they can sweep this under the rug for something as technologically basic as...
Was quoted for $1400. Opened a case with Honda. Dealer also said other parts of my car got damaged due to the leakage from the condenser. The dealer service guy told my case manager this. Then my case manager had the audacity to hint that I was trying to throw in freebies (the resultant damage...
I strongly urge everyone to call Honda Corporate and voice your complaints. There's no reason so many of us should be paying $1400 to repair the air conditioning system.

Unbelievable. I had to have my A/C repaired about a year and a half ago under warranty. It's not working again and now I'm out of warranty. For f***'s sake.
