The car has to be running when you connect back the light/rain sensor for the auto headlights to continue to work. I’m assuming that’s what you’re referring to since the Civic doesn’t have auto high beams right?
At least for the North American market, we cannot "turn off" the auto function. Yes, you can still use low and high mode, but the intermittent settings do not exist, UNLESS the auto function is disabled somehow. People have been having some issues with the rain sensing sensitivity and I just...
Yes, it runs on intermittent settings when I disable it. However, you'll notice that it swipes every time you let off the brakes when going under 10km/h (or 6mph) speed. Just a little perk but way more useful than the auto setting I find.
Are you talking about the noise over the injectors that sound like a knock? If that's the case, I recall another member posting a question about it and never found the answer. I have that noise on cold starts as well. The funny thing is, if you're in park, it does not make the noise, once you're...
Hi guys,
I’ve been fiddling with my stupid rain sensing wipers on the Touring, and I’m happy to report I may have found a solution for everyone to have intermittent settings. It requires little knowledge and all you have to do is disconnect and connect a few fuses and pins.
*Disclaimer...
Thanks! I ordered mine friday but hopefully I'll get it in a week or two. In regards to the wrinkles, I have them on my touring steering wheel since new and haven't disappeared, so it probably won't smooth out.
Did you order when they were already backordered? I just ordered mine from a loca dealer here in Ontario but they say it is backordered. Just wondering when it might actually come in.

Lexus has been doing this on their 3.5 engines for a while with some good results. On the other hand, their 2.5 was a DI only and some had issues with carbon deposits and etc.
I hear it, but kinda odd that it's not throwing a CEL if it's missing. How long have you been on the tune? The tune could be harsh to the spark plugs, which could potentially be an issue.
When did this start happening? Don't all 1.5T's make this noise when they first start? Also, is there a CEL on? If a good number of misfires are detected, it should throw a code.
EDIT: Actually, are you referring to the "clicking" sound in the clip? If that is what you're referring to, it does...
Also, I've done some more research on the fuel dilution issues, here is what I've found so far;
Supposedly, turbo DI engines suffer from the risk of Low Speed Pre Ignition (LSPI) issues in certain high load situations. Apparently richening the fuel mixture at high speeds reduces the risk of...
Chevron fuel system clear will not clean intake valve deposits on DI engines. Since fuel is sprayed directly into the combustion chambers, it has no chance of reaching the intake valves like port injected engines would.
But yes, if there are heavy intake valve deposits, walnut blasting is the...
Thanks for the update. I assume the noise is something other than knocking. I feel that if it was actually knocking, the knock sensors would throw a code and the CEL would go off. Knowing that other 1.5T owner has the same issue as me makes it seem like the sound is just a cold start noise. But...
any updates from the dealer? My touring makes the same noise as your sound clip in extreme cold climates. I thought it was knocking too but it goes away very quickly. Please let me know if you have any results!
Well after reading this post, I know that my rain-sensing wipers have a problem.... it's not like everyone else's here, but mine rather chooses to be an intermittent wipers instead of automatic. The sensitivity knob only changes the speed, but the wipers never change speed automatically. So mine...
I would assume that fuel would be more pronounced in an engine that runs rich than the ones that run lean. But from what I've read, running rich during cold start up is what causes the fuel to blow past the piston rings and land in the oil (hence the dilution). So I'm not sure if a richer tune...
