Thanks I just snagged one off eBay from a 2013 EX CRV. $22 after an eBay coupon. Looks like they have the same issue we do where base models donāt have the variable delay adjustment.
Thanks, yeah mines a hatchback so slightly different part number. Got that figured out though.
Sorry if I wasnāt clear. I have a sport and I bought the wiper stalk from the touring model to attempt this mod.
Iām genuinely excited to hear you guys got this working. Now to figure out where I went wrong. Might be because I have a touring switch for auto wipers. Anybody mind measuring the resistance on that pin at the high and low ranges of the adjustment? Only people who have it out of the car, if...
I was following but now you got me confused. You said Blackstone is unreliable for guessing based on a flashpoint measurement but you also just said the best way to tell if an oil is diluted is to look at the viscosity and flash temp. The viscosity and flash temp are right there on my report...
Yes, I have been using Blackstone labs happily for my past few cars and theyāve saved several of my friends from catastrophic engine failure. I was unaware about their unreliable reporting methods. Just when you think youāve got it covered, somebody on the internet will generally find a better...
My UOA shows 1.3% fuel dilution on my first oil change (8800 miles) and 1.8% on the second oil change (8864 more miles). The higher number may be the cold winter weather, or that I let it idle for a bit before changing the oil. My commute is long so it seems to be burning off the fuel adequately...
Intrigued on your findings regarding those JAE connectors. The main connector looks very similar in style to the connectors used on the body control electronics behind the dash. Finding the correct female pins is the next step for me to retrofitan EX wiper stalk into my sport.
Did you notice any change in the sound? Wondering if the headunit has any crossover on the door speakers.
Also, if we sprung for the āpremiumā headunit with all the bells and whistles, do you know if it still has an amp inside to drive our speakers?
I also put my tweeters in the rear door. I traced the cutout and used a dremel with a routing bit to cut very slowly. Thereās an impression in the plastic for the factory tweeters, I just used that to center my cutout template for the JL tweeters.
The guy who made the custom JL box put a lot of time into it, but I wouldn't need or want mine to be as fancy with the JL logo, edge trim, LED lighting.
Would love to see somehody come out with a simplified one just like the OPs with basic carpet covering for a $200-300 price point
The part number for the body module on the EX is different than the Sport/LX. I noticed that intermittent signal pin started sinking more current than I was comfortable with for a signal so I stopped and abandoned the project. Might try again some other time with a current limited supply to see...
It definitely won't hurt. Your cars new enough so the rubber lines are still fresh. So it may not be night and day like people with older cars that do it.
Doesn't the type R have a different lug pattern too? That'll keep you from using the type R rotors. Maybe theres some out there the right Diameter and bolt pattern but you'll have to do some digging.
Yes. With the CDV would slip the clutch if you launched it and it was hard to get the 1-2 shift smooth.
Honestly I didn't notice the civic had it so it must not be too aggressive. But now I need to know what I'm missing...
For what it's worth this was done very early in my BMW's life and it hasn't caused a single issue. Car has 220k on an original clutch and flywheel.
I would like to do it to my Civic but parts for this car seem cheap enough I'll just order a new slave and disect that one instead. A braided line...
So I've got my civic, that was the real holdup. Just waiting for the weather to cooperate up here. It's been below freezing and I'm paranoid about breaking clips so waiting for a warm day. Also considered buying the EX Stalk in the meantime, unless somebody can measure theirs and sees the...
I figured I'd be safer with the sedan being out for a year but alas here I am. If anybody hears of a TSB for this rattle let us know. It's tough to diagnose because it goes away when the cars been on for a couple minutes or when it's over 40* outside.
