  1. Safe HP on a CVT

I mean hold brake and gas to spool up stationary, then let go of brake to launch. Don't do that. Slamming gas off the line isn't doing you any favors but also won't melt anything.
  2. how long did your remote battery last?

Just chiming in to say I got the same alert a week ago, bought new early 2017. Easy replacement. Take the backup key out of the fob and there's a reinforced notch where you can use the key to pry the fob apart. I recommend being methodical so the fob buttons don't fly out during the process, as...
  3. Bring a Jacket: Mishimoto’s Honda Civic 1.5L Turbo Performance Intercooler R&D

Got this install done Sunday along with the PRL cobra intake while I was at it. It's huge and heavy compared to stock but temps drop quick and stay pretty low even in FL heat. Wise use of existing hardware and custom parts when needed. She needs a bath before I post a frontal ;)
  4. PRL Motorsports Street & Race MAF Housing Comparison

Is this true for non-SI/CVT as well? Haven't seen it and definitely could use it!
  5. Bring a Jacket: Mishimoto’s Honda Civic 1.5L Turbo Performance Intercooler R&D

Guys, just plan on arrival, installation, and integrated tune by October. They built this from scratch. Market production, print, packaging, and shipping are unpredictable at this small scale, especially considering the quality advertised.
  6. CVT or Manual, Change my mind

Far as I can tell, beyond simple personal preference, it only depends on how far you want to push the car with mods and tuning. If you want to upgrade performance you can do better with the manual. If you want to stay closer to stock and maximize eco/drivability you have benefits with the CVT...
  7. Bring a Jacket: Mishimoto’s Honda Civic 1.5L Turbo Performance Intercooler R&D

hey actual hardware to back up my license delete w00t! Black w/ red pipes incoming!
  8. Coupe back up lights into tail lights/flashers.

Coolio, I just reply to everything as stated - never know who's asking! By all means go A-Team on the rear lighting mod. Would be interesting to see!
  9. Coupe back up lights into tail lights/flashers.

I think legally the reverse lights are supposed to be white (in US at least). As with headlights, they tell other cars what direction you are moving. Also during night backing, they illuminate what's behind you more clearly. Your backup camera would likely suffer in the dark. I'm not saying it...
  10. WTD 2018 Photo Thread

Had a great weekend out there!
  11. Wake the Dragon Part Swap?

    idk like $50 or something
  12. Wake the Dragon 2018 presented by Hondata (Tail of the Dragon Meet) - Late Reg through March 25

Also why I'm uncharacteristically apathetic that it's a dry county...
  13. TRS Retro-Quik Kit Install

I did the same retrofit last Tuesday among other mods (took all day). Only difference is that I trimmed the housing rather than the bracket for the projector mount. Same apparent effect - superb lighting. Alignment post install is fairly straightforward. Great writeup! My only question out of...
  14. Wake the Dragon 2018 presented by Hondata (Tail of the Dragon Meet) - Late Reg through March 25

I am absolutely game for this! I just want a clear head while driving the curves.
  15. Wake the Dragon 2018 presented by Hondata (Tail of the Dragon Meet) - Late Reg through March 25

I am meeting some friends up there - it's not a strategic route other than familiar rest after the long haul. But if you are heading up from Chattanooga I'd be happy to hop down on Friday and drive up! And as he said, bonus if you wanna meet early for a caravan through Murphy!
  16. Wake the Dragon 2018 presented by Hondata (Tail of the Dragon Meet) - Late Reg through March 25

I'm driving from basically Pensacola to Knoxville on Thursday, then out to the village Friday afternoon. Anyone headed those directions at those times I'd be happy to link up. Will have 2-way radio.
  17. Wake the Dragon Part Swap?

Same - but only part sets I think would be desirable, not just scraps. Like my moonroof visor.
  18. First mods??

If you don't like the look regardless of performance, you've answered your own question. There's a cliché: "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." One could apply that in principle to patience. You've got a new car - wait to make decisions. Focus on yourself, then the vehicle. Not to...
  19. First mods??

Without messing with things that require a tune you can: -Upgrade wheels/tires/brakes -Modify suspension/chassis to desired feel -Swap catback exhaust components -Enhance cosmetics (interior & exterior), especially tint and lighting all around -Replace intake for minor performance/sound gains...
  20. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Basically you have to do multiple coats fast and get all the tape off immediately while while the dip is still wet. So first coat would be kinda light just covering the area, still see some color through. Start at one end work to other, then immediately back for second coat. Second coat should...
