It has now been over two years, and I haven't had to reset the car since I did it the second time... everything has worked perfectly. I hope everyone else has had good luck and fixed their entry problem as well.
It has been three months, and my 2nd reset seems to be holding. I haven't had any issues since, and have washed it countless times and have driven through all types of weather. I am praying the issue is done, since I am completely used to placing my hand in the handle and gaining immediate...
That's awesome... not as good as PandaXpress has, but damn near perfect. I park WAY out in the boonies every time, and I can't believe how many times someone with a dinosaur POS parks next to me. At least you know your parking neighbor will care enough not to smash their door into you!
Bummer... mine is still working, but now I'll spend all my time wondering when it'll stop. One of the earlier posts lists a Honda main phone number wherein you can get a case number and be notified when there is a fix. I would suggest you do that; I plan to the second mine acts up again. That...
So... it has been two weeks now, and the Smart Entry system has worked flawlessly since my post two weeks ago. I have put on approximately 250 miles since then, but have had many short-trip entries and exits into and from the car.
I might add that, when I first got the car, I was not used to...
Serius XM and USB. I've got almost 200 CDs on the USB, so everything I liked enough to buy is there. The folder-style menu on the Civic makes it easy to navigate, and the infotainment screen is large and up front, allowing me to (mostly) keep my eyes on the road while using it. All that said, I...
I've owned three before my '17 Civic EX/L Hatch : a '91 Accord EX, '93 Accord LX, and a '12 Civic EX-L. All I have a pic of is the '91 & '12, which both looked like new last year when I got rid of them. God, I loved that '91!
Favorite: The quiet, smooth, yet stable and sporty ride as compared to the Gen 9.
Least: The rims (EX-L/Nav). Too much surface area for me, I like more spokes.
Definitely not just you. Like you, I'll get used to it, but it's WAY harder to figure out where my car ends than my 9th Gen was. But, I wouldn't trade for anything, either.
Since I bought my hatch in November, I've been using the relatively new Lucas Slick Mist Detailer spray on the ENTIRE outside of my car between waxes. Spray it on while the car is wet, then dry. I do wipe it off the gloss-black parts with a clean, fluffy-soft, terry-type towel since I HATE the...
I would guess that the problem is fairly rare. It's not specific to any one type of Civ, just that it's Ex+, 2016+, and most likely those with Nav. Comsidering the number of cars sold that fit those parameters, and the very few that have had issues, some of us were just unlucky. I'd say that...
The only other car I considered was the Mazda 3 hatch. I think they're a good vehicle, but I couldn't get over the difference in looks. Don't get me wrong, I think they look good... but the Civic hatch looks better. And, my immediate family has owned Hondas since 1985. Not a single one has...
Update... I hope. I bought my car in November. The Smart Entry quit working by the time I got it home, a 400 mile trip. Took it in for the warranty work on the Smart Entry system, wherein they reset the car and the system worked... for about an hour. I posted my original issue on this board...
Re: You should have the dealer submit a reference number for the issue like me.. my dealer says American honda knows of the issues a computer update is all that is needed to correct the issue we are having with the smart entry. When the update will be released is unknown. I bug them every week...
