  1. I am filled with regret !!

Just an idea - on my last car (Accord) I used a motorcycle exhaust baffle to reduce the noise.
  2. Silly question

If you get there, and they do not fit, try removing the lower section of the back seat. It comes out easily and it might be just enough for the wheels to fit. Once you get the wheels in, the part you removed will fit somewhere in the car.
  3. Cracked Windshield

I have read that the 2016 Sedan and the 2017 HB have laminated acoustic glass. It is 3 layers: 2.0 mm safety glass, 0.7mm PVB, and 1.8 mm safety glass. Maybe this makes the windshield more fragile. If mine breaks, I’m going to try to have a regular windshield put in.
  4. Myth: Resting Your Hand on the Shifter

I don't believe the myth and I have driven manual shift for 49 years. But, back in the late sixties I read a road test on the semi-auto VW - you could not rest your hand on the shifter because that is what actuated the clutch. And since then, every time I rest my hand on the shifter, that is...
  5. Removing sun visor safety warnings

If you don't use sun visors, and you are tall, just remove the drivers side sun visor. That's what I did and it really improved the visibility - before, the top four inches of the windshield was blocked by the sun visor.
  6. Picking up carbon fiber hood soon, will it fit in our hatchback?

With the passenger seat pushed forward, a 2017 Civic hood will fit in the hatch if you slide it in at about a 40 degree angle and you will have to drive with the hatch open. (You will need to take the hood out of the box.) First I would try to slide it in with the front side up. If you have...
  7. Why does the 1.5 T have dual exhaust?

Actually it is a single exhaust. Near the rear axle it splits off into 2 mufflers.
  8. Replace head restraints?

Hi khory, Your wife should try tilting the seat back - that would help. Also, if your wife is OK with adding lumbar support (it is fairly easy to do) - that might help a little, too.
  9. Will spare tire fit the hatch with central exhaust?

Hi un hombre, I see that you are from Ireland. I think the European models come without a spare. They give you a patch kit and pump and I believe they have “sort of run-flat” tires - Continental ContiProContact ContiSeal. If you get a puncture, the tire can “heal” itself – you need to carry an...
  10. Spare tire?!

I have a 2017 HB Sport - the spare tire weighs 27.4 lbs. The round plastic tray with the tire tools is 3.6 lbs. Tire tools without the tray are 2.6 lbs. (Sorry - I didn't weigh the jack yet.)
  11. 2017 Hatchback Storage floor concern

Here is what I did to my 2017 HB Sport to make the rear trunk floor more solid……… 2017 Civic Hatchback Sport (center exhaust) Plywood (15/32“ thickness, 33 33/4” wide x 31 ¾” deep) Covers entire spare tire recessed area Provides solid rear deck floor (lower by 2.75”) and a 1.53 cubic foot...
  12. What size sheet of plywood will Civic Hatchback hold?

If you are a Home Depot shopper, this might help. I keep this list in my car in case I want to buy something to see if it will fit. Some Home Depots will trim plywood if the full 48 inch width will not fit in your car. I have not actually carried anything yet - I will update this list with any...
  13. Battery Died, how to get into car

Hi Ken, If you have added a power amp to your car and if the power wire from the amp to the battery is run under the hood beside the hood release cable, this might work: Remove the 2 phillips screws holding the left side plastic inner fender liner. Try to pull the fender liner down a little so...
  14. 2017 Hatchback - This & That - Odds & Ends

Hey,chard31, I was on the Merritt Parkway yesterday afternoon, so that could have been me that you saw. I see your location is "slightly off center". I think that is close to me....

  16. New Here? Introduce Yourself!

Hi everybody (new member warning) - I have had my car exactly one month today – gone 850 miles - 36.3 mpg (car says 37.8) – and I heard the left dash rattle for the first time today :) After one month, I have finally taken a picture of my car. Well, the exhaust system of my car. 2017 Civic...
  17. Stock speaker size for the Hatch without the factory upgrade?

Hi Steven H, If your JBLs will fit OK without the plastic spacers (besides the screws being too long) you might want to try one of them with shorter screws. If I am looking at it right, the plastic spacers leave a gap that might reduce the bass. In other words, if your speaker box is airtight...
  18. 2017 Hatchback - This & That - Odds & Ends

Hi chard31, I haven't done much to my HB, but I have removed the visor sticker. Just put a few drops of water on it, let it soak a few minutes, and the paper will come off easily. The adhesive is left behind and nothing I tried would remove it. The adhesive is a lot less noticeable than the...
