  1. LED tail lights lifted by body shop

Tail lights instead of headlights but thanks. Good news! I compared photos from before and after the repair. The tail lights have NOT changed. The "neon tube" effect is still there when parking lights are on. Mods feel free to close/delete this post. Thanks all!
  2. LED tail lights lifted by body shop

Thanks. I am still hoping to hear from a 2017 EX hatch owner in US. I feel certain I visually confirmed LEDs on my car before. I remember the 2017 LX and Sport had conventional tail lights.
  3. LED tail lights lifted by body shop

My EX hatch was rear ended in June. Brake lights were not damaged. Body shop replaced rear bumper, impact bar, repaired hatch, and painted. Just checked and the write-up has no mention of tail lights. While inspecting the car, the black plastic of the tail lights in the hatch seemed off. They...
  4. Steering wheel controls feel cheap

Anyone else not care for the sharp outer edges of the buttons? Over time I have trained myself to slide from the center to press a direction rather than jamming my fingertip on the sharp edge. Definitely not up to Honda standards for a high-traffic control. o_O
  5. Civic X Development and Production Info

I am pleased with my first CVT. There are rare occasions where I experience significant lag. I never engage Econo mode. No apologies - the car is great fun and is still the most fuel efficient I have owned. Now, :topic:. Share some CivicX design gossip that is not already posted.
  6. Red or Black? Options are limited

I voted red and since no one else mentioned it: wax with a good wax or polish at least once per year. It protects the clearcoat, helps prevent fading, and the car stays cleaner and is easier to clean than an unwaxed car! Jamroxors rallye red just above is looking super hot and is definitely...
  7. CVT Fluid Change 2016 Civic EX

Any chance you ever hear a grinding noise when you start your Civic? If so you may find this thread interesting: http://www.civicx.com/threads/warm-start-grinding-noise-news-fix.9952/#post-167233 There is a TSB to correct it and it includes a CVT fluid change. I have the grinding noise. TSB...
  8. In-car microphone replaced under warranty

Priority Honda in Hampton replaced my in-car microphone today (part 39180-TBA-A21ZD). Microphone worked normally for 10 months before it failed. Android Auto and telephone callers stopped being able to hear me. At first I blamed Android Auto and reinstalled with no luck. Next, I tested the...
  9. What's your CivicX's name

Candy. Received just over 18k from my cousin Candy's estate. First car I haven't had to pay for myself. You better believe I named her Candy! :p
  10. History of the Honda Civic

AutoGuide published a decent history of the Civic. Find it here: http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2017/10/the-road-travelled-history-of-the-honda-civic.html
  11. What's in your Emergency Car Kit?

Below are items I added to the hatchback. Was surprised to learn from this thread the Si omits the spare tire. My Civic had a flat within the first month and I needed my spare. There is space to store items in and around the spare and in the left rear storage compartment near the jack and...
  12. Tire Pressure Monitor System show actual Tire Pressure?

You also receive the same "low pressure" message when the tires are over pressure such as on a hot summer day. When the outside temp swings up and down during the change of seasons it sort of feels like my car is playing a game with me. o_O
  13. Goodbye & Review 20k Miles Touring Sedan

Great write-up! For highway cruising and comfort on your commute I think you will love the Accord. I waited months for the hatchback to be released and was somewhat apprehensive of build quality out of England. Perhaps enough time passed and Honda addressed some of the issues in the HB. At...
  14. Maintenance Minder is a Nag

HaHa. I figured this was the answer for most and I cannot say I disagree with you, Invader. I have never had a car with an approximately 10,000 mile service interval so changing at 8,000 is not going to hurt too much. I checked yesterday and oil life is at 15% so I will change it this...
  15. Maintenance Minder is a Nag

Minor complaint but maintenance minder nags me every time I start my car. If I want the fuel economy display to show, I need to press the Info button to dismiss the maintenance reminder. Since this begins at 20% oil life, it may be two months before it is actually time to change my oil! Does...
  16. What are yall using to keep the interior clean

I knew fabric in these locations was going to be a problem. A wet cloth has helped some. Next I will try an automotive fabric cleaner. I suspect it is a normal plastic surface under the fabric so removal or replacement with more fabric may be my future solution. By the way, Armor All matt...
  17. The lack of volume knob post 5000km ownership

Hey there, LeaveEarly. Not sure why the rude replies. Some did not read your message and thought you were complaining... I agree with you and actually like the on-screen flyout slider area for volume control. What a cleanly designed instrument panel! Also, volume slider works exactly like...
  18. How many miles on the ODO at delivery?

Eight miles on the showroom floor in November 2016. Lowest miles and first time buying a car from the floor. It has almost 13,000 miles after roadtrips from Virginia to Florida and Colorado and still not a single squeak or rattle. Kudos to the folks in Swindon!
  19. Audio Touchscreen System Tips & Tricks

Found an alternate way to dismiss text message notifications from the touchscreen without having to reach out and tap "Ignore." Press the Lanewatch button on the end of the headlight (left) stalk twice.
  20. alignment, is this worth taking to the dealer?

Another 2017 hatch owner here and my steering wheel alignment is slightly off a few degrees to the left. When driving straight the steering wheel is turned a few degrees to the left. Other than a slightly misaligned driver's door (of course it would be the one I use all of the time) my car is...
