I had a 2017 Civic touring. I had the oil analyzed 3 times. Each report showed at or above 5 percent. Since Honda hasn't even mentioned a fix for the Civic I just traded for an 18 Accord Touring.

Do a Google search. Plenty of engine failures and gas fumes so bad the vehicle can't be driven. I consider myself one of the lucky ones. Some accumulate over a qt. in 500 miles so constant oil changes.

The analysis didn't show excessive bearing wear. The dealer said at 3700 miles I had about 8 ounces extra when they drained the oil. I can only assume That if I had waited for the mileage minder I would have had over 16 ounces of gas in 3.7 qts. of oil. I feel thats alot. .

I have a 2017 sedan touring and Honda recommends top tier regular gasoline for 1.5 turbo.

Premium is not necessary. Honda recommends using top tier gasoline. Top tier is not premium but does have additional additives necessary to help with controlling carbon in the 1.5 turbo. Google top tier to look for company's that sell top tier gasoline.

It states in the manual that if you repeat the sequence within the first 10 minutes it will add another 10 minutes.
