A few years ago I would have said I would take an NA V6 over a turbo 4 any day of the week but my opinion is slowly changing based on some pretty good 4 cyl engines out in the market. Ford's Ecoboost engines in the Mustang and new Focus RS are nothing to balk at. I've yet to try the 1.5L turbo...
Good point. Though the Focus RS became more hardcore I'd say. Definitely more of a performance delta between the two now and even more now with FWD vs. AWD. Oh what I would do for a RWD/AWD Type R.
It does look great but you know muscle car crowd can be a little insecure LOL.
As far as advertised fuel economy I dont think any car I've driven has ever hit the rated MPG, but maybe I have a lead foot. You know that Ford admitted to inflating MPG figures last year for their hybrids...
I think it's been written both ways so it's hard to tell if any of it means anything.
Also, the "upcoming" could apply to all vehicles after it and still be accurate.
Welcome to the site! The '13 Fusion is a nice car, I like what Ford did with the redesign although Mustang owners are bitching all over the place about the shared front end. The new Civic tho, gotta say that is one of the best redesigned vehicle of any make in the last 5-10 yrs. It helps the 9th...
It can be bigger but still an improvement. You planning on keeping the wheels on there or they're going back on the FRS? Like you I'd really like to see how 19's would look.
I like it and guarantee many people will not be able to guess it's a Civic without the badge. Did you consider plastidipping it to be body colored before removing?
I don't know what Honda was thinking with the stock Civic X wheels but I'm glad they designed a car that looks great with such an easy/common mod. Black wheels all the way on this car IMO.
You know, it really doesn't sound too bad. It doesn't have the whine that some small turbo engines have and I did hear the grunt that HondaPro Jason mentioned on start up.
Off topic but another interesting thing from the TFLC video... Jason seemed adamant that both the Si and Type R will only...
If they were heavily considering US preferences it would not be a hatchback and would probably be larger, clunkier and lose its signature flare. Probably also be an auto transmission.
Europe/Asia have always gotten the cooler cars, I just hope when they finally bring the CTR over, they give us...
Yea the only way I see it happening is due to heavy discounts on the previous gen cars still on the lots. Maybe dealers lead with the 9th gen on unsuspecting buyers who may not even realize there is an all new model that is completely redesigned.
It looks like the turbo has quite a lot left in it. This thing is going to pull even better with the coupe, I can't wait to see the 0-60 and 1/4 with the 1.5 coupe.
One question since I'm unfamiliar with CVT's... does the way it drives actually help smooth turbo lag?
This picture amazes me. What were they thinking with the proportions of the 9th gen?? That cab forward design is so awful, really looks like a proper appliance (sorry to offend any current owners). I'd really hate to be the guy trying to sell the 9th gen over the 10th. What would you say other...
Well said sir. So you're getting a sedan? Jk ;)
I will say I think the Civic sedan and coupe share a lot of similarities and both are not as compromised as I would think when you consider they differ by 2 doors. Meaning the coupe is not as compromised in terms of interior space and the sedan is...
My fear is Honda may water down the Si since we are now getting the Type R in the states. If I were in the market for the Type R I'd also be worried they are going to make it even more hardcore and therefore unattainable price wise.
The fact that BOTH will be available in the same markets...
Ditto. Another reason I am looking at the Civic over the Focus. Tons of fleet sales from Ford, although I can't say I know how much will occur when they bring over the RS from Europe.
