I think it'd be stupid of Honda not to sell it though. Focus ST and GTI are both it's main competition and both offered in hatch form. Golf R and FoRS are both in hatch as well which is perfect for the CTR even with the STI in sedan only form. I've learned Honda will do what the want to do...
I'm going to say Not gonna happen. Why? Well this week at SEMA, HPD showcased it's body-in-white Civic. I see this as HPD showing it will be supporting teams in Pirelli World Challenge and IMSAs Continental Series who will be running the "hottest version" of the car on track (correct me if I'm...
Man you make my head hurt. Don't take so much offense to everyones opinions.....just a suggestion. Si stands for "Sport injection." Sport is defined as "to play in a happy or lively way" or "to amuse oneself" and I think the Si has always done that. The CTR will do that as well just in a more...
As a tech for Honda for many years, i would never try to ruin someones warranty for having an aftermarket stereo. That is, unless you came in and complained about speaker/radio issues multiple times trying to state "It's a factory speaker, it's under warranty, it shouldn't blow out hooked up to...
I don't understand that. Not everyone wants two tone interiors, not everyone wants gray or white. One thing I hate about Honda force feeding you what they think you want. Like the 14/15 Si with the red seat centers. Those seats are great.....in all black. Every used one I've seen on the market...
I had a 2015 STI, currently drive a 2016 WRX, have had 02 and 2012 wrxs. Wife has a 2014 Foz and I've had 3 Si models 10, 12, & 13.
From my experience wait for the Si. Downgrading from the STI to WRX makes me wish I would've just gotten a 9th gen Si again. The car is nice, drives smooth, low...
Kind of sounds like some truth. I know it doesn't hold much weight because dealerships. But while shopping for a Pilot/Odyssey for the wife I was asking if they would have any 9th gen Si models coming in or if they stopped production (still interested in picking one up, love them). Same response...
I'm also slightly bummed on this timeframe. I know you guys will be able to see the CTR race in the continental tires sports car championship come January. Most of the teams that ran the 9th gen Si will be converting to the Civic Type R this season.
I enjoy the fact Honda has kept cars like the Si and S2000 manual only. It keeps to their sporty roots and makes them truly drivers cars. If you want an auto, just go buy the 1.5T and play around with that or go across the street to an Acura dealership where they have the DCT already in the ILX...
Really it's all up to what would make him happy and what he's looking to get out of the car. Like I said great deals going on now with Honda 0.9 or 1.9% financing and huge chunks off MSRP because of model year end and with a new generation coming.
I personally never like to buy a first model...
It depends are you looking to get a great deal or have the latest and greatest? Me I'm at the point where saving money is key. I'd love to wait on the 2016 but getting a 2015 with Navi for $20500 is a great deal and I take some money home with me after trading in my STI. I was going to get a Fit...
Honda is pretty good about keeping things true to their roots as far as a manual goes. If it's a sporty model it will have a manual. Every civic si ever, rsx type-s, nsx, s2000, etc. I wouldn't worry and I doubt it'll get an auto unless it's the 8speed DCT from the ILX/TLX.
I really can't wait to get some details. If the next gen Si is only getting a 1.5T and 200hp I'm just going to purchase the outgoing model. I'm selling my STI so I can get another Si and a truck to tow my ChumpCar with. I still want something fun to drive on a daily basis; but, if it's a 1.5 in...
Negative this plant will only be building the 5-door which still has it's underpinnings from the 9th gen. They will be producing all 5-doors for planet Earth. 2 and 4 doors will be built relative to their respective markets on the brand new chassis.
If you haven't noticed Honda released the...
I'm partial to the 2 tier design. That's one thing I miss driving a STI now. I loved being able to just glance down and get a read on my speed and have a monstrous tach.
The type R has the two tier doesn't it? That's good news. I'l reserve my final comments/judgement once I see the finished...
you don't say! haha I was out and about without the wife and kids and had a chance to check out some new models. Plus they'd be willing to give me what I owe on my STI for a trade which is great for when your trying to buy a house and lower debt/income ratio.
My wife does want an HR-V but when...
I was at a Honda dealer yesterday checking out the new Fit. There were a few HR-Vs on the lot. Dealer had them marked up like $5k from MSRP. They are nice cars, but really just a lifted Fit with 10 more HP and an AWD option.
I'd still like the Si to still be NA but pump out like 240hp but who knows what we'll get. Anything should be better than the K24, which is a great engine but the lack of "real" VTEC was a bummer.
Do you want my professional opinion or my wish i was still 21 opinion? Professional.....keep whatever you have, save up, buy a house, then worry about a car. Way better investment for your money.
Other side opinion - get the cool car, life's too short to drive a boring car, and if you do don't...
