  1. Wireless Carplay Dongle Is Available For Civic

I have been dealing with this same issue for over a year. After many attempts at figuring it out, reboots, etc, I found what I believe to be the main culprit --> the lightning port on my 2.5+ year old Iphone is wearing out, getting dirty and not making a good connection with the lightning...
  2. Question re RDM (Road Departure Mitigation), for those who have it enabled

All the steering systems give way immediately to even slight manual input (in my expierence).
  3. How Much Do You Pay For Insurance?

  4. Honda Civic Self-Driving for $700

Right off the bat one major difference would be the time before the system requires you to prove you're alert - 5-6 minutes versus 30 seconds or so with Sensing. For me this would never be worth paying a grand as I always have a hand on the wheel and only occasionally get the "steering required"...
  5. Honda Civic Self-Driving for $700

Thanks but I've read this blurb. How is openpilot better (and by how much)? I'm asking for real world examples from someone who has used both systems.
  6. Honda Civic Self-Driving for $700

I would love to support this but from everything I'm reading the improvements over the existing Honda Sensing software are minimal. Honda Sensing works very well under typical use circumstances (boring highway driving). To get me to drop serious $ on an advancement I'd want some marked...
  7. Honda Civic Self-Driving for $700

If you watch the video at the OP's link it appears to use the camera on the phone.

Haven't seen any in southern Ohio. Drive 60 miles a day during the work week.
  9. What little tips and tricks do you know?

I noticed in my Touring that if you get a phone call or trigger Siri or something along those lines the auto climate kills the vent fans if they're running high - presumably to kill background noise. Very cool!
  10. Winter Wheels / Tires - Everything you want to know

Just swapped these on. Looks pretty slick to me! General Arctics with the MB14 alloys from Discount Tire Direct.
  11. Honda Sensing - Stress Eliminator

Great observation. I've noticed this happen where I see brake lights much farther down the highway then the car in front being tracked. At that point I'll usually start to slowly reduce the ACC max speed accordingly.
  12. Just bought a Cosmic Blue EX-L w/sensing

Nice! Are you loving the Sensing features on your long commute?
  15. 2017 Civic Sedan vs Hatch

I bought the sedan but was having the same debate because I was driving a hatchback and love the convenience and storage space. I knew I wanted the touring trim in either model. And once the news dropped that the hatch touring recommended 93 octane and wouldn't be available for some...
  16. Honda Sensing - Stress Eliminator

Yep! Just so happens the car I was driving before the Civic was a manual without cruise control!
  17. Honda Sensing - Stress Eliminator

Soi far I've found that I like to keep ACC pacing at extra long (so long as I'm in the slow lane). Seems to work out better for the reason you mention and in terms of allowing merging traffic ample space.
  18. Honda Sensing - Stress Eliminator

What in the world are you talking about bikerguy, LOL. There are some funny people on this forum
  19. What little tips and tricks do you know?

Just found this in the owner's manual with respect to what happens after you start the car remotely -- While the engine is running, the vehicle will automatically activate climate control with a preset temperature of 72°F (22°C). When it is warm outside: • The air conditioning is activated in...

Yeah it is. It's in a settings submenu under "Remote Entry" or something along those lines. There should be an option for "All doors."
